I spent a sleepless night worrying about what could happen to me if Mallory wakes up. She only seems harmless to me, but what has happened are things that I cannot forget.  In my dream, she told me that I was dying. Ah, it wasn’t a dream but a reality. Then why didn’t I feel anything when I pinched myself at that time? My soul... What does it mean to have your soul eaten? What if I don’t die as she has foretold? Will she kill me? Why me? Why of all people, why...? What do I do? What should I feel? Should I be scared? Should I lash out on her? Do I hurt her before she hurts me? Or... Do I just let her do what she wants? Lost deep in thoughts, only by the heat of the sun did I notice that it was morning already. I got up before she did. It’s 6:00, I am too confused to know how I should act, what to do first, or what to think. If I tell Raphael and Gab they might only think that I’m crazy. I grabbed my things and went to the bathroom like I usually do in the morning. Perhaps some cold water can help me think straight. Shoo The sound of the cold water flowing down the shower made me calm down a little bit. Raphael and Gab aren’t here, they may have finished shower already.  When my head cooled down a bit more, I started thinking through things again.  Whew, am I... really dying? I’m sure anyone would be shocked if this kind of stuff happened to them. And here I was thinking how different Mallory is from others, likable and such, haha. I guess I got fooled by my own naivety.  Creak... The shower room door opened. Since what happened yesterday, my senses have been on edge, my brain may have sensed danger that’s why it went on defensive mode. That being said, I felt a chill as I heard the door close again. Who came in? I turned around to look at the person and I was surprised. It’s the dorm manager; Abigor. I thought there were shower rooms in every floor. Why did he have to come up until the fifth floor to take a shower? “Oh! Isn’t it Michael.” he greeted. “I didn’t know you take showers here.” I said. “Only in this floor does cold water come out from the shower, so...” he said and went towards the stall beside me. “Cold water feels good, doesn’t it?” he said, “In our place, only boiling hot water comes out after all.” he added. “Your water must’ve come from hot springs then.” I said. “Hmm? Haha.” he laughed sarcastically at what I said. I think many people would like that though, the hot springs I mean. Talking about hot springs did not stop me from thinking grimly. Being faced with death, I guess it is inevitable. I remember us being told the same in ethics class before, I may have learned it there. When faced with the real thing, I guess there is nothing else you can think of to calm yourself except that. This is reality, but I just can’t get myself to believe that I really am dying, may it be by Mallory’s hands or not is still not compelling. I don't feel anything at all, I’m too healthy to perish from an illness and I’m too kind to have someone with an urge to kill me, except Mallory I guess. *sigh* “Is there a problem?” Abigor asked me as we finished shower. His question surprised me, as I was deep in thoughts I didn’t notice my sigh has been too loud. “Ahah, nothing.” I told him. My current circumstance is too hard to explain and I doubt that he would understand even if I managed to so I decided to keep it to myself. “Haha, you looked like you’ve seen some strange creature.” he said. Strange creature, huh? You’ve got that right. Hmm... Maybe if I ask him theoretically? “Do you have an interest in supernatural things?” I asked. “Huh? Well, it's pretty interesting.” he answered. “You must know lots then,” “Hah! Try me.” he bragged. “What do you know about demons?” “Demons? There’s a couple of different types of ‘em. Lesser and higher demons, the ever famous succubus and man-eating demons. Which one is it?” “What about demons that look like humans?” “Demons who have not reached maturity, huh? I have read a book about that, but it ain’t really fun because the demon is not capable of eating men. No thrill.” he said. Not yet mature? Incapable of eating men? “What book was that?” I asked. “Ah, that? I’ve forgotten, haha.” he gagged. It’s not funny, I am even trying to rely on fantasy book now just to know what to do in this situation. “Tell me about the plot then.” I said trying to get even the least of information I could get. “That? The demon couldn’t touch his supposed prey and ended up falling on the hands of another demon who reached maturity first.” he said with a smile. His facial expression seems maniacal for some reason. Creepy... I remember that time he looked annoyed at me when I thanked him. Abigor is quite the strange one as well. “What did he do?” I asked for a continuation of the plot. “The demon who got his prey stolen from?” he asked then I nodded.  “He died.”
