Feeling of owning

Family dinner

He was in his penthouse getting ready to leave for his office when the phone ring. He picked up the phone from the night stand, Ian's name flashing on the screen and answered the phone "Hi Ian, What's up little bro?"

"Hey bro! Are you still in penthouse? we want to meet you " Ian asked , his voice cheerful.

" Yes, I'm still in penthouse getting ready for the office, if you come in half an hour we could have breakfast together " he told Ian.

" Okay, we'll be there in 10 minutes. Wait for us" with that he cut the call in a hurry.

He knows why Ian wants to see him or talk to him. After taking his jacket, phone and files he left his room headed down stairs to the kitchen.

"Martha, Ian and Lily will join me for the breakfast" he told to the cook, she is a kind woman in her forties has been working with him since he bought this penthouse three years ago. After his father's death and Ian moved with Lily, he doesn't want to live their family mansion, the home once filled with all his family and their memories alone . So he bought the penthouse and started to live here.

"Okay Mr. Gregory. I will make more. Is the usual fine? Or you want anything else? " she asked him.

" Oh! The usual is just fine" he replied her. He likes to have pancakes or toast eggs and bacon for his breakfast.

The sound of elevator heard. "I'll get it" he said, went to living room placing his files on the coffee table. Ian and Lily walk in smiling hand in hand. There's a file in Lily's other hand.

After the greetings and brotherly hugs they sat on the couch. Jacob also took his seat opposite to them. Lily and Ian looked at each other signaling something through their eyes.Jacob cleared his throat catching their attention to him.

"What? " he frowned

" Uhm. Okay. We have a good news to tell you.Lily is pregnant!" Ian told him then look at Lily.

'Oh! So this is the plan. They are not going to tell me about the surrogacy. Great! Even I'm not going to tell them either . Okay. Now I have to act with this ' he thought.

"Congratulations. Oh, but what about the medical reports and all? " he acted like he didn't know the truth. " I will talk to Harry for the appointment ".

" Thanks. Um... brother, we are trying another doctor this time and doing fine" Ian said, his voice stern but guilty.

"Oh! " was what he said in return. He knows what Ian trying to hide and not want him to feel more guilty by asking more.

" Here, the sonogram reports. The baby is fine " Lily hand him the sonogram of his babies. He take it from her looking at it for a few minutes. He suppress the urge of telling her that it's his babies not their baby and his copy is there in his room. He mentally smiled and pitied at them. He gave back the sonogram to Lily and smiled at her.

"We are also planning a family dinner tonight to officially announce the pregnancy. You know why? " Ian said

" Yeah, I know it's because of our irritating relatives and their irritating questions and all" he replied shrugging. It was fact they were really very irritating sometimes. That's why he always tried to avoid such occasions with the excuse of important meetings. They told him the venue and time and he promised them he would surely attend it.

.He don't want anymore acting, thank God! Martha came to the living room and announced "Breakfast is ready" .

"Come, join me for breakfast " They all stand up and headed to dining area to have breakfast. After breakfast they left his penthouse. He also left for the office .

She was arranging the new collections when Lily called her. " Hey! " she attended the call.

" Hi!, Are you free this evening? " Lily asked her.

" Of course!, What's up. Planning some things ? " she asked obvious to Lily's nature. Lily likes clubbing and socializing way more than Elsa's comfort zone, the continuous miscarriages made her change a little bit but not fully.

" Not really but there's a family dinner and we want you to attend it "Lily stated.

" Family dinner? " she asked.

" Yes you heard me right! Family dinner. You are family.You are attending it and no excuse " she said clearly.

" But... " Lily cut off her and said" we are officially announcing the pregnancy and we would like to have you and the baby attend the dinner and enjoy with us".

"Don't you think this is so soon for all this? " she asked her.

" Yeah! We know it is. But you know they all knew about the Will and ask us questions whenever there was a chance. We thought it's time to end all that questions and pity looks " Lily replied to her.She remembered Lily told her about this before. Even though Jacob was supporting them, some of their cousins and uncles make fun of their situation during the family functions and Ian and Lily could do nothing but to tolerate that which makes them pissed off especially Ian.

" Oh! " . " Yeah, I know " she said after a pause" Okay. Text me when and where. I'll be there ".

" Okay. I'll. Don't be late " with that she cut the call. Soon she got Lily's text. She sighed and got back to her work.

She came back home and decided to get ready for the dinner. After stripping the clothes she went into the bathroom and took a warm shower. With her lavender body wash she scrubbed her body and wash her hair with shampoo. After the shower, she wrapped her body in a towel and her hair in another. Standing in front of the sink she brush her teeth and blow dried her hair.Back to her room she went to her closet and rummage through the dresses for the one for the evening .

 She select a white knee length  lace dress, picked matching lace bra and panties. She slipped into the dress and put on her stilletos. She opted simple makeup and hair style. After checking her in front of the mirror last time ,  satisfied with the look she picked  her clutch, phone and coat,  and left her apartment and drove to the restaurant which Lily texted.

She didn't thought of Jacob, who also attending the dinner as he is the family as well.
