Feeling of owning

Telling him

I was making breakfast when my door bell rang.I was in a loose t-shirt with  shorts. I headed to the door peeked through the whole before opening it. It was Lily.She look tensed. I'm seeing her  three days after my visit to her house. We were on regular calls the past days not discussing much about what we talked at her house.

"You ate breakfast?. I was making mine,want  some? " I asked her after closing the door behind us.

" Yeah! Why not. What's for breakfast?  " she asked walking into the kitchen with me.

" Toast and eggs, may be some hams if you like " I said turn on the stove.

" That's fine "she said sitting on the kitchen counter . After a few minutes our breakfast was ready after putting the toast eggs and hams into two plates we started to eat it. She helped me with the juice and pour it in to our glasses." Is everything OK? " I asked her noticing she looked the same as when she came.

" Brother - in- law returned last night from the trip, he called Ian to meet him, want to discuss something related to business earlier today " she said.

" Hmm, and..? " I encourage her to continue I guess I know where she going.

" Ian told me if his mood is good, he plan to tell him... You know " she said looking straight to me.

" Today? " I asked her. She nodded.

" Yes. He already left to meet him. That's why I came here first thing in the morning.Though we decided this but am feeling weird and don't know how he take all this " she said, her voice very low.

" Yeah, We decided " I murmured. We sat there silently for a while before she start again, " You think he take it the way we think? " she asked me. I wonder what she meant by 'the way we think'.  We didn't discuss the possible ways how he react. Maybe she and Ian did. I don't know.

"What you mean by the way we think, Lily?. We didn't discuss that"  I said raising my eyebrows.

"I mean him take it all nicely and act in our favor not the other way" she said.

" We could only hope "I shrugged not want to think other wise. I heard her sighed.

We were startled by the ring of Lily's phone. She picked her phone from her Jean's pocket.

" It's Ian"  she said answering the call. "Ian. You met him?............ Why he called?..... Hm....Oh!..... You still there?.... You told him?...... Oh. Okay.......... Yeah I told her...... Okay. We are here..... Ok."  I heard her speak on the call. She cut the call and looked at me worriedly.

"They're coming " she said.

" Huh?  Who's coming? Ian? " I questioned her ." Wait, you said they? " I asked panicking.

" Yes. Ian coming here with his brother " she stated.

" Jacob? "

" Hm. Ian  told me that after hearing him, his brother said nothing but to see us. And they're coming here to talk " she said. Jacob coming here to confront us- me. A  shiver ran through my whole body and sweating profusely.

" Elsa, you okay?  Calm down. We'll be okay " Lily said  holding me tight only then I realize I was blabbering." Here, drink some water " she hand me a glass of water before she had one for herself.

" You want to change? " she asked eyeing me.

" I should? " I asked back before looking down at me then realized I was not wearing a bra.

" Yeah.  It will be inappropriate them seeing you like this " she said. " Give me a minute "

I stood up heading to my room leaving her there. I wore a bra and changed my shorts into a jeans after washing my face and combing my hair. I joined Lily and we waited for Jacob and Ian to come. The tension atmosphere of my living room growing with each passing minutes.

"Good morning brother " Ian's said walked into the living room where I was sitting reading through the files.

" Morning Ian" I said. He took a seat opposite me.

" How was trip? Had fun? You like Asia? " he asked picking another file from the table and start to read it.

" It was a business trip not a vacation" I replied shaking my head " and yes It went well, we should definitely think of expanding our business there".I  was on this business trip to Asia and returned yesterday after a month and called him to ask him meet me today. 

" You want to see me for this?  " he asked looking up from the file.

" Yes. I want you to go through them and make a presentation by the end of the week " I said. It was our new asian project and I want it done as soon as possible and seal the deal. I also plan on handing the project to Ian in fact I plan on handing the whole business we have in asia to him if he is okay with that. Now that he is planning a family and want to settle this is what I can do for him.

" Okay. Anything else? " he queried.

" Martha. Bring those bags " I said Martha who brought coffee for us. She nodded before walk away. She came back with some shopping bags and placed them on the table. Ian looked at the bags then me and smiled knowingly.

" These are for you and Lily. I hope you like it" I said giving him the bags.

"You said you were on a business trip not a vacation " he mocked me taking the bags.

" Yeah. But I had time to buy gifts for my little brother and his fiance " I smirked at him.

" Oh! Okay. I surrender " he said waving his hands in the air. He knew where we end up.

" You better" I said  smiling

"You had breakfast? "

"  No. I thought we could eat together" he said and followed me to the dining table.

"Bro, I want to tell you some thing" he said after the breakfast.

""You know you can tell me anything you want,right?  So tell me " I wonder if it is about what I know already. And yes I was right.

" It is... I... We... " I cut him off" what is it Ian. why you stuttering.I won't judge you tell me ".

" We made a mistake, I mean we hide something from you and now I feel guilty about it" he started looking up at me. "Okay"  I said nonchalantly.

"It is... the circumstances that forced me to decide this. I'm sorry brother I lied to you about Lily's pregnancy before" his voice guilty. I felt bad for acting like I didn't know all this before after seeing him feel guilty about what he did. But maintained my composure and leaned forward to hear him "Isn't she pregnant?"  I asked him decided to go with the flow and let him tell what I want to hear.

"Yes she is now" he told me the whole thing of Lily's idea of surrogacy to Elsa agreed to be the surrogate mother to the insemination to the twin pregnancy to now Lily being pregnant for real. I heard him with a serious expression  when he spoke  the insemination part I felt bad for him . But I'm happy now I made a good decision then.

"I don't know what to do brother. We were scared to lose each other and Father's will made us more helpless. Our life,  our future all depends on a baby.. Who we fear we could ever have " he paused.

" Why you don't tell me before? Why you telling me now? " I asked him.

" We thought you won't agree besides the lawyer is your friend and we thought we could handle it. But things happened unexpectedly and Lily also conceived and we doubt if it go out of our hands... We believe you are the one who could help" he stopped when I started to laugh. There he is, this is what I wanted to hear from him.

"So you tell me this only because you fear if things go out of hand and you want a backup. But I'm still the lawyer's friend. You don't fear me now telling him all this. What if I really tell him? " I asked him. I know my voice slightly intimidating. But I can't help it.

" You won't. Will you? " he asked, his voice weak.

" No. Don't worry I won't tell him. You're my little brother,as an elder brother I  forgive you for what you do. And I will support you always " I assured him." Thank you ". His lips curved in to a small smile and he came to hug me tight. Very tight.I patted his back.

" How" he asked me after pulled away.

"Let me think. But first I want to meet the girls now " I stated. Ian gasped" now? ".

" Yes. Now. Let's go".
