Jasmine POV I pulled up to the location Kayla had given me, and as I stepped out of the car, I couldn't help but smile. The sleek, modern building stood before me, its glass façade glinting in the sunlight. I had been here several times before, each time submitting my application with a mix of hope and trepidation. But I had never been picked. Today, however, felt different. Today, I felt a sense of gratitude and blessing wash over me. I thought back to Kayla, my sweet mother-in-law, who had made all of this possible. Her kindness and generosity had opened doors for me that I never thought possible. As I gazed out at the car, a sense of pride swelled up within me. The memory of Knoxville face when I took the car was still etched vividly in my mind. His eyes had narrowed, his jaw clenched, and his lips had curled into a snarl. If looks could kill, I would have been six feet under by now. The intensity of his glare had sent shivers down my spine, and for a moment, I had wondered if I had made a grave mistake. As I gazed at my reflection, my eyes drifted down to the stunning dress that hugged my curves in all the right places. The sleek, red gown was a masterpiece of design, its silk fabric draping elegantly across my body. The fitted bodice showcased my toned waist, while the flowing skirt fell in soft folds around my legs. The dress's bold, crimson color perfectly complemented my dark hair and skin tone, making me look like a vision of elegance and sophistication. The subtle sheen of the fabric caught the light, giving my overall appearance a touch of glamour and allure. I felt like a million bucks in that dress, and I knew I was turning heads. The confidence boost it gave me was undeniable, and I couldn't help but smile as I took in my reflection. I pushed open the gleaming glass doors and stepped inside the company, my heels clicking confidently on the polished marble floor. As I scanned the room, my eyes landed on Kayla from afar, standing poised and elegant amidst a group of colleagues. For a moment, I was tempted to shout out her name, but I restrained myself, remembering her gentle request to address her as "Mother" in public. I made my way towards her, a bright smile spreading across my face. "Hey, Mother," I said, waving hello, and Kayla responded with a warm wave of her own, a hint of a smile playing on her lips. Her eyes crinkled at the corners as she took in my appearance, and I could sense a surge of pride and affection emanating from her. "Aww, my lovely daughter, you look absolutely stunning," Kayla cooed, her eyes shining with warmth and affection. I felt a flush rise to my cheeks as I blushed, feeling a little self-conscious but also deeply loved. Kayla's gaze drifted past me, her eyes narrowing slightly as she took in the sleek, luxurious car parked behind me. "Wait a minute," she said, her voice tinged with surprise and curiosity. "That car... that's Knoxville new car, isn't it?" She asked, her brow furrowed in inquiry. I nodded my head, a sly smile spreading across my face. "The one and only," I replied, feeling a sense of pride and accomplishment wash over me. Kayla's eyes widened in surprise, and she took a step closer to me, her expression a mixture of curiosity and amusement. "How on earth did you manage to get your hands on that car?" Kayla asked, her eyes sparkling with amusement and curiosity. "Because the Knoxville I know is notoriously stubborn and petty, and I'm quite certain he didn't willingly hand over the keys to you." She raised an eyebrow, her expression a mixture of intrigue and playful skepticism. I couldn't help but chuckle loudly at her astute observation. "You know your son all too well, Mother," I replied, shaking my head in amusement. "I knew he'd never agree to let me take the car if I asked him directly. So, I took matters into my own hands... or rather, I should say, I 'borrowed' the car without his permission." I grinned mischievously, feeling a sense of satisfaction at having outsmarted Knoxville. Kayla's eyes widened in surprise, and she let out a throaty laugh. "Oh, my dear, you are a sly one, aren't you?" She shook her head, a mixture of admiration and exasperation on her face. "I'm not sure whether to be impressed or worried. What did knoxville say when he found out?" "You don't have to worry about me, Mother," I replied, a confident smile spreading across my face. "Knoxville can't do anything to me. I can handle him." I assured her, my tone steady and self-assured. Kayla nodded her head, a knowing glint in her eye. "You're just like me, aren't you?" she said, a hint of amusement dancing on her lips. "I chose the right person for this task. I'm rest assured that you'll carry out my instructions perfectly." She paused, her expression turning serious. "But remember, don't fall in love with him along the way," she cautioned, her voice low and urgent. "Knoxville can be charming when he wants to be, but don't let your guard down. You have a job to do, and I'm counting on you to see it through." I nodded, taking her words to heart. I knew what was at stake, and I was determined to succeed. "You don't have to worry about that, Mother," I replied with a chuckle. "I'm not exactly the romantic type. I suck at falling in love, to be honest." I shook my head, recalling my past experiences. "I'm more of a 'get in, get the job done, and get out' kind of person." Kayla's face lit up with amusement. "Good to hear, dear," she said, her voice dripping with relief. "I wouldn't want you to get distracted from your mission." I grinned, feeling a sense of determination wash over me. "Don't worry, Mother. I've got this." I paused, glancing at my watch. "Can we go see Mr. Khalid now? I'm eager to get started on this project. And I'm excited to meet the rest of the cast – I've heard great things about them." Kayla nodded, her expression turning serious. "Yes, of course. Mr. Khalid is waiting for us. Let's go." She gestured towards the door, and I followed her out of the room, feeling a sense of anticipation building up inside me. As we walked to the audition room, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement building up inside me. But nothing could have prepared me for the shock I felt when I pushed open the door and stepped inside. My mouth snapped open in awe as my eyes landed on none other than Khalid, my all-time favorite actor and writer. I felt like I'd been punched in the gut. My heart racing, I had to physically restrain myself from rushing over to where he sat, calm and composed, and hugging him tightly. I had to remind myself to play it cool, not to look like some desperate, starstruck fan. I took a deep breath and tried to compose myself, but my eyes kept drifting back to Khalid, drinking in the sight of him. He looked even more handsome in person, with piercing brown eyes that seemed to see right through me. His strong jawline and chiseled features made him look like a god, and I couldn't help but feel a little intimidated. "Mrs. Kayla, you're here," Khalid said, flashing a warm smile as he rose from his seat. His eyes crinkled at the corners, and his entire demeanor exuded a sense of genuine warmth. Kayla nodded her head graciously, her expression serene. "Khalid, this is Jasmine, the talented young actress I've been telling you about. She'll be playing the female lead in our production." As Kayla introduced me, Khalid's gaze shifted to mine, his eyes scrutinizing me with a mixture of curiosity and skepticism. I felt a flutter in my chest, but I stood tall, determined to make a good impression. "Are you sure she can handle the complexity of this role?" Khalid asked, his tone neutral, but his eyes betraying a hint of doubt. Kayla's introduction had clearly not been enough to convince him of my abilities. I felt a surge of determination rise up within me. I was ready to prove myself, to show Khalid that I had what it took to bring this character to life. I met his gaze squarely, my eyes locked on his, as I waited for Kayla's response. "She's capable, audition her, and if she's not up to your taste, you can decide then," Kayla replied, her tone confident and reassuring. Khalid's eyes lingered on me for a moment, as if sizing me up, before he nodded curtly. I took a deep breath, seizing the opportunity to make a good impression. "Good morning, everyone," I said, my voice clear and bright. "I am Jasmine." I smiled warmly, trying to break the ice. Khalid's gaze snapped back to mine, his eyes narrowing slightly as he assessed me. "Welcome, Jasmine," he said, his voice deep and smooth. "Can you show us what you've got?" He leaned back in his chair, steepling his fingers together as he waited for my response. I quickly nodded my head, my heart racing with excitement. "Yes, of course," I replied, trying to sound calm and composed. I took a deep breath, mentally preparing myself for the audition. Khalid leaned forward, his eyes locked intensely on mine. "Alright, Jasmine. I want to see your range. Can you display some characters for me?" I nodded eagerly, my mind racing with the possibilities. "Absolutely. What characters would you like me to portray?" Khalid smiled, a hint of challenge in his voice. "Let's see... I want you to show me a lady suffering, a sassy lady, a classy lady, an arrogant lady, and... a Mafia boss." I grinned, feeling a surge of excitement. This was my chance to showcase my skills, to prove to Khalid that I was more than just a pretty face. I took a deep breath, letting my body relax into the first character. I let my shoulders slump, my eyes droop, and my lips tremble. I became a lady suffering, worn down by the trials of life. "Ah, no... no, it can't be," I whispered, my voice cracking with despair. Khalid's eyes narrowed, his gaze piercing as he watched me. I could sense his intensity, his desire to see more. I switched characters, my body language shifting seamlessly into that of a sassy lady. I tossed my head, rolling my eyes and snapping my fingers. "Oh, please, you think you can handle me? I doubt it," I said, my voice dripping with attitude. Khalid's lips twitched, a hint of amusement dancing in his eyes. Next, I became a classy lady, poised and elegant. I stood tall, my shoulders back and my head held high. "Good evening, darling. It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance," I said, my voice smooth as silk. Khalid's gaze lingered on me, his expression thoughtful. I moved on to the arrogant lady, my body language becoming haughty and superior. "I'm afraid you're not worthy of my attention," I said, my voice cold and dismissive. Khalid's eyes flashed with interest, his gaze piercing as he watched me. Finally, I became the Mafia boss, my body language powerful and commanding. "You're going to do exactly as I say, or you'll suffer the consequences," I growled, my voice low and menacing. Khalid's eyes narrowed, his gaze intense as he watched me. I could sense his approval, his recognition that I had truly become each character. As I finished the last character, Khalid leaned back in his chair, a slow smile spreading across his face. "Well, well, well," he said, his voice dripping with satisfaction. "Looks like we've got ourselves a talented actress." "I think you're perfect for the role, based on what you just showcased here," Khalid said, a warm smile spreading across his face. "Congratulations, Jasmine. You passed the audition." I couldn't contain my excitement. I rushed over to where Khalid sat, my heart racing with joy. Before he could even stand up, I threw my arms around him, hugging him tightly. "My dream has finally come true!" I exclaimed, my voice trembling with emotion. I felt like I was on cloud nine, like nothing could ever bring me down. Getting this role was a game-changer for me.
