Chapter Fourteen
Tuesday, 16th
Caroline was dreading a further confrontation with Ben however she decided to put on a brave face as she strode into the office. She relaxed slightly when there appeared to be no sign of him, and thankfully no messages or emails.
At around ten thirty Dalim knocked on the frame of her open door. She was always so polite and so professional it made Caroline want to put the girl at her ease, despite her misgivings that this might be an arms-length salvo from Ben.
“Hello Dalim. How are you today?”
“I’m fine thank you Caroline. You are well?”
Dalim didn’t smile, but Caroline was still struck by how beautiful she was and while Dalim was immaculately dressed as always, her outfit definitely played down her charms. You and me both, Caroline noted.
