Nick’s POV   I think about her words long after she says them out loud. And I let him. When Norman and I came to rescue her, I knew instantly that she had been through more than I liked. She had blood on her face; she had watched Vance die; she had been tortured, at least in some capacity, by Caine.  But hearing her tell the stories from her perspective—that Archer’s head was blown off right in front of her, and that Vance died for her—I realize the emotional toll it truly took on her. And that’s not even counting what was done to her best friend. As soon as we’re done talking, she follows Corrin and Westley into Margery’s tent, and she doesn’t come out. Luke tries to go after her, but I stop him, shaking my head. He’s not any more welcome in there than I am—not with the vamp blood
