Chapter Sixteen Rich crosses the lobby quickly and swiftly. The only person around is the bartender who is busy texting on his phone and not paying attention to a massive gossip scoop unfolding in front of him. Rich grabs my arm tightly, and I clamp my mouth shut so I don’t cry out. “You’re missing the movie,” he hisses and practically drags me into the theater, snatching my purse away from me to get his phone out of it. I try to grab my purse back but he finds the Nokia and shoves it in his tuxedo jacket before throwing my purse back at me, narrowly missing my face. I can’t pay attention during the movie. Even when I am on screen, larger than life, with flawless makeup in spite of the fact monsters are doing battle in the city, I don’t even enjoy it. My brain feels stuffed full of bet
