I covered my ears, trying not to go deaf. The room was filled with laughter and the loud, chaotic energy of the boys. Clarence was back to being his usual self. Raven hadn’t changed, still loud. Axle and Jeremy were being ridiculous as always, tossing jokes back and forth like we hadn’t just gone through hell. It was overwhelming, but in a comforting way.
They were celebrating like they had just pulled off the biggest win of their lives. In a way, they had. They brought me back. They saved me again.
I smiled without thinking. After everything, after all the pain and fear and nights I cried myself to sleep, we were together again. I wanted to hold on to that feeling forever. But then, I realized the three weren’t here yet.
