However, as Damien made his demand, instructing Lysandra to kill Annabelle, she staggered backward in horror. The words, delivered so casually, chilled her to the bone. He was a monster. "I have told you already, I'm not," Damien said with a callous smile Lysandra's eyes widened with shock as Damien smirked in response. "You... You can read minds?" she stammered, her disbelief evident. Damien's wicked smile widened. "Only dark thoughts," he replied, his elongated fingers gently tracing Lysandra's cheeks. The contact sent a shiver down Lysandra's spine, causing her legs to give way in fear. She fell to the floor, her body trembling uncontrollably. "Kill her, Lisa," Damien continued, his tone filled with sadistic delight. "Plunge that beautiful dagger into her heart, release her from her suffering, and I'll let you go. I promise." "Please... Please, just let me go. I beg you." "So, it's a no?" Damien's grin faded slightly, disappointment replacing his sadistic amusement. "I... I cannot do something like that. Please, let me go," She pleaded meekly. In a horrifying instant, Damien appeared behind Annabelle, the bloodied and broken woman. With a swift and merciless motion, he ripped out both of her arms. She cried out in agony, her voice filled with unbearable pain. "Please, Damien, please, spare me!" she wailed. But Damien seemed to revel in her suffering, delighting in her agony. He callously pushed her to the ground before tearing off both her legs, and in one final act of brutality, he severed her head. The room fell into a horrified silence, a collective gasp escaping the stunned onlookers. Caleb the sloth, ever bored, maintained his apathetic expression, while Delilah, though not a friend to the demoness, felt a deep sadness at her gruesome death. Alucard, however, had carefully observed Levi throughout the entire ordeal, his eyes locked onto the enigmatic figure. He hoped that the silent man would maintain his silence once again, shielding Alucard's involvement. Levi, true to his nature, observed the scene with a blank expression, giving nothing away. "You missed your opportunity, Lisa," Damien said, his tongue leisurely licking his bloodied fingers. "Take her to her room. I'm sure the lady must be tired after such an eventful day," he ordered the guards with a twisted smile of satisfaction. "No! No! No! Please, let me go! Please!" She pleaded repeatedly as the two imposing guards forcefully dragged her toward her room, or more accurately, her prison. "Levi," Damien called out smoothly, exuding an air of command. "Extract a little of her blood. I plan on eliminating Lucian as soon as possible," he commanded, taking his place at the head of the table and casually sipping his wine. "Understood," Levi replied respectfully, bowing slightly before taking his leave. Alucard, observing Levi's departure, quickly followed suit, his mind preoccupied with questions. Catching up to Levi, he couldn't contain his curiosity any longer. "Hey, Levi," Alucard called out, his voice filled with intensity. "You were the one who captured Anna and tortured her. She must have told you about my involvement. I'm sure you already knew, so why didn't she say anything to Damien? And why didn't you?" Alucard's narrowed gaze pierced Levi's calm exterior as he awaited an explanation. "I erased all memories of your involvement from her," Levi replied casually, sending shockwaves through Alucard's mind. "Why? Why would you help me?" Alucard asked, his curiosity and confusion intertwining. Levi's calm response lingered in the air. "Be more careful, Alucard," he advised before disappearing into thin air, leaving Alucard even more bewildered than before. His mind spun with unanswered questions. Why did Levi erase Anna's memories? Why was he helping him? Was Levi truly an ally? Although relieved that his involvement remained a secret, Alucard couldn't shake the wariness he held towards Levi. Staring ominously at the empty space where Levi had vanished, he let out a long, heavy sigh. Hatred for Levi boiled within him. Alucard, known for his exceptional intellect, found himself constantly outmaneuvered by the enigmatic man. Levi always seemed to be one step ahead, always refusing to fall into Alucard's traps. The man's intentions remained a mystery. ****** Lysandra was suddenly jolted awake when she felt a presence in her room. She stood up and quickly made a defensive stance. It was already dark, obscuring her vision of the intruder. "How long have I been asleep?" she wondered, her exhaustion from the events of the day evident. Glancing out the window, she realized it was past midnight. "Who's there?" she asked, her voice trembling. She cautiously moved closer, squinting to get a better look at the figure. Her heart skipped a beat when she recognized the golden-haired, golden-eyed man standing before her. It was Levi. "What do you want?" she managed to ask, her voice stuttering with fear. "Sit," he commanded in an authoritative tone, causing Lysandra to quickly obey and drop onto the bed. Levi approached her with a golden dagger in his left hand. Seeing the blade, Lysandra's instinct for self-preservation kicked in, and she stood up again, her eyes darting towards the room's exit, hoping for an escape. "Futile," he said nonchalantly. Levi was dressed in a plain white T-shirt, exposing his muscular chest, and black pants. His hair was tied up in a ponytail, accentuating his chiseled jawline. Lysandra found herself lost in her thoughts, captivated by the perfection of his appearance. "Come sit," he said politely, his tone snapping Lysandra out of her reverie. "What do you want?" she asked meekly, occasionally glancing at the golden dagger tightly held in his hands. With no response from him, she reluctantly obeyed and sat on the bed, her gaze fixed on him. "Why am I here?" she trailed off, releasing a piercing shriek as Levi suddenly slashed her palms with the golden dagger. The action was so swift that she couldn't comprehend when he had taken hold of her hands or when he had positioned himself on the bed beside her. ""Argh, what the f**k are you doing?" she screamed at him, her voice filled with fury and tears streaming down her cheeks. "What do you want from me?" She continued to scream, frustration pouring out of her. "If you're going to kill me, just get it over with. I can't bear being imprisoned like an animal," she cried out at the top of her lungs. In her anger and desperation, Lysandra pounded her fists against Levi's chest, attempting to release her pent-up emotions. Levi, however, maintained his stoic countenance, allowing Lysandra to repeatedly strike him. To Lysandra's surprise, Levi retrieved a small bottle from his pocket and forcefully pressed her injured palm against it. She continued screaming and striking him with her other hand as he callously siphoned her blood into the tiny vessel. Without even sparing her a glance, he coldly stood up and exited the room once he had finished, leaving Lysandra crying and shouting for help. Despite her vehement pleas, they fell on deaf ears. Exhausted from the ordeal, Lysandra eventually succumbed to sleep with tear-filled eyes and Levi's untreated wound on her hand. ******* Lysandra was startled as she felt a warm wet towel soothingly cleaning her hands. Startled, she sat up and was astonished to find the last person she expected to help her sitting beside her bed. Seraphina, adorned in a stunning red robe that perfectly complemented her fiery red hair, greeted her with a smile. "Seraphina?" Lysandra gasped, her eyes widening with a mix of surprise and tears. "Hello darling," She replied, her smile radiating genuine love and concern. "Why did you do this to me, Seraphina?" Lysandra sorrowfully questioned, perched on the edge of the bed, her gaze fixed upon her once closest companion. "Please, I need you to help me escape. I can't bear another day trapped in this living nightmare," she pleaded, clasping her hands with desperation in her eyes. As she did, a sharp ache shot through her injured palm, causing her to wince in discomfort. "It was a deep s***h," Seraphina uttered through gritted teeth, "I don't understand. Why did Levi have to make it so severe? And he didn't even tend to it, such an asshole," Seraphina grumbled, visibly irritated by Levi's cold demeanor. However, her annoyance momentarily faded as Seraphina withdrew a vial of green potion from her pocket and gently applied it to Lysandra's injured hand. Astonished, Lysandra found herself taken aback by the unexpected tenderness exhibited by Seraphina. Wasn't she the one who had brought her to this wretched place? Hadn't she claimed not to care about her at all? The confusion swirling within Lysandra's mind left her feeling dizzy and overwhelmed.
