Please don't keep me waiting

"Wake up, my lady," Lysandra slowly opened her gloomy eyes, her ears catching the faint voice of Ophelia. With a mild yawn, she rubbed her eyes and squinted, trying to focus through her blurry vision on the servant girl who was already bustling about, preparing a bath for Lysandra in the small carved-out restroom at the far end of her room. "Please, my lady, you should quickly take a shower. It's past nine already, Lord Damien has been waiting for you at the dinner table," Ophelia politely urged, filling the bathtub with warm water. Surprisingly, Lysandra didn't complain or argue, instead, she kindly asked for some privacy, promising that she would join Damein for breakfast within fifteen minutes. Ophelia couldn't help but notice Lysandra's dull, red, and swollen eyes. It was clear that she had cried herself to sleep. Compassion filled Ophelia's heart for the young woman with her blonde locks and striking green eyes. "Alright, I'll be outside if you need anything, my lady," she said, bowing slightly and leaving a delicate pink gown on the bed for Lysandra to change into after her bath. "Are you human, Ophelia? I'm so lonely. Please, I need to know I'm not the only human here. I'm so confused, I feel so tired of living," Lysandra asked in a depressed tone, her voice heavy with sorrow. Ophelia's heart ached for her, unable to bear seeing Lysandra in such distress any longer. Without hesitating, she pulled Lysandra into a tight embrace, surprising her. After a few seconds, Lysandra reciprocated the hug, seeking solace in Ophelia's comforting presence. Resting her face on the crook of her neck, tears streamed down Lysandra's cheeks. "No, don't say that, my lady. You aren't the only human here. There are a few of us humans in this castle, including myself," Ophelia reassured with a gentle smile, her hand rubbing Lysandra's back in an attempt to soothe her pain, even just a little. "You are human?" Lysandra asked, withdrawing herself from Ophelia's hug, her gaze fixed intently on her. "Yes, my lady," Magdalene responded, gently patting Lysandra's head. At that moment, a heavy burden seemed to lift from Lysandra's chest. She had been under the false assumption that she was the only human in the castle, and now, with this revelation, she smiled widely at Ophelia, visibly relieved of a great weight. "Thank you so much, Ophelia. I'll take my bath now," Lysandra expressed her gratitude, embracing her briefly before heading towards the awaiting bathtub. Ophelia watched Lysandra's retreating figure with a warm smile before exiting the room, giving Lysandra the privacy she desired. ****** Guided by Ophelia, Lysandra entered the grand dining hall, the captivating beauty and bright ambiance of the space never failing to mesmerize her. As she took her seat at the table, Lysandra's eyes landed on Damien, who occupied the head of the table. His seductive smile sent an unsettling charm, accentuated by his attire of a black t-shirt, complemented by a large dark coat and black pants. Lysandra couldn't help but question how such alluring beauty coexisted with such darkness. "Like what you see?" Damien's voice cut through Lysandra's thoughts, his devious smirk breaking her reverie. She silently chastised herself for finding any admiration in someone so inherently wicked. Resolving to maintain a facade of impenetrable coldness, Lysandra positioned herself at the farthest end of the table. "Why glare at me little mouse?" Damien teased, leaning forward with a smirk dancing upon his lips while his chin rested delicately on his intertwined fingers. "Why? Is that truly a question? I am forcibly held against my will, subjected to witness disturbing acts of violence, and one of your 'pets,' that golden-haired man, callously injured my hand yesterday," Lysandra retorted, her glare piercing and unwavering. "Oh, what do we have here? Our scared little mouse is growing bold," Damien remarked with a chuckle. Lysandra paid his comment no mind, her icy stare fixed upon him like daggers, unaffected by his attempts to taunt her. "Breakfast is about to be served. Come, sit over here," Damien gestured towards the vacant chair beside him, completely disregarding Lysandra's cold glare. "No!" Lysandra firmly rejected his offer, surprising Damien momentarily. It seemed that she had sunk into such depths of despair that she no longer cared about her fate. A devious smirk tugged at the corners of his lips as he observed her, realizing she hadn't fallen far enough. His attention then shifted to the trembling servant standing behind Lysandra. "Ophelia, was it?" Damien spoke in a chilling tone, causing the servant girl to tremble with fear. "Y-Yes, my lord," she stammered, bowing deeply. "Such a pretty name," he sighed dramatically. "It appears that you have been a bad influence on my dear Lysandra," He paused turning his gaze to Lysandra 'To correct her behavior and ensure she never strays again, we may have to remove you," he stated, tapping his elongated claws against the table. As his words hung in the air, Ophelia's energy seemed to drain from her, her body collapsing to the ground while she shook uncontrollably with fear. "Please, my lord, I'll correct my ways. This will never happen again," she pleaded, her voice barely audible as she bowed before him. Witnessing these events unfold, Lysandra's fury intensified, causing her to rise from her seat, her teeth clenched tightly together. Once again, Damien was manipulating the situation to serve his desires. Lysandra glared at him with an intense anger burning in her eyes, the sight of his devious smirk only fueling the fire within her. "Ah, this is excellent. It appears has been corrected, what a miracle," Damien declared, his grin widening " Come here my sweet, sweet baby. Please, don't keep me waiting," he purred, his words laced with a seductive tone.
