Wide-eyed and still in disbelief, Lysandra mustered the courage to voice her incredulity. "Dracula existed?" Her doe-like eyes shimmered with a mix of awe and confusion, a sight that Damien found endearing.
A gentle chuckle escaped Damien's lips as he nodded in response. "Yes, indeed he did exist. And, as I said before, he holds a unique connection to me."
"How can he be your son?" Lysandra voiced her thoughts, her voice betraying both shock and curiosity. It was as if her fragile mind was being bombarded with extraordinary revelations, threatening to unravel its delicate state.
Damien's mischievous smirk deepened, amused by Lysandra's reaction. He raised an eyebrow playfully, his gaze fixed on her quivering form. "My, my, where did that frightened little creature from before disappear to?"
Lysandra felt a pang of fear returning, fearing that she had somehow angered or offended the mysterious being.
Her thoughts raced, desperately searching for an explanation for his sudden change in demeanor. But before panic could fully consume her, Damien released a sigh and gracefully settled himself on the edge of the bed, crossing his legs with an air of elegance.
He shifted his gaze to meet Lysandra's trembling eyes, his expression softened. "I did not mean to frighten you further."
Lysandra's breath hitched, relief washing over her as she realized that Damein had not meant any harm. Tentatively, she mustered the courage to speak again. "I... I just can't wrap my mind around how Dracula could be your son. It seems impossible."
Taking a deep breath, She mustered the courage to speak, her voice still trembling with astonishment. "To think that vampires are the most evolved creatures of darkness, and Dracula... he was the first, the most powerful. And you....you granted him that power, that dominion over the darkness."
Damien inclined his head, "Yes, Dracula was once a formidable Demonlord, connected deeply to the darkness. He sought me out, finding me within the depths of the abyss. Together, we formed a bond, and I bestowed upon him the unmatched power of darkness, enabling him to defeat those who stood in his path."
A flicker of sorrow passed through Damien's eyes, woven into the complexity of his ancient existence. "But even with his immense power, Dracula could still be rivaled by fragments of light and creatures such as dragons, elves, divinities, and the Helsings. My power elevated him, made him the sovereign of the human realm."
"He was like a son to me, and in exchange for the darkness, he lost his connection to the light, unable to draw power from it which is why vampires cannot survive under the sun."
"Then..Then why do you exist in his body?." Lysandra asked meekly tearing her gaze from his, he was after all responsible for the creation of vampires, he possessed unfathomable power.
"That I cannot tell you." he replied coldly which made Lysandra shudder from fright
"Wh...what do you want with me? whe... where are my friends?." She asked with a stutter
"Your friends were taken by Lucian, they are still alive." he replied deliberately ignoring her first question "Kyle on the other hand not so much." he replied with a smirk as he stood up from and walked towards the exit.
"Kyle is dead?." Lysandra's voice trembled as she muttered to herself, overwhelmed by the devastating news. Hugging her knees tightly to her chest, a wave of pain washed over her. Despite the warnings from the lycans about Kyle's true nature, she still held onto the image of the young, caring man she had known for years.
She questioned why he willingly followed her, aware of the perils that awaited them. Could it be that he wanted to protect her? Lysandra's guilt grew as she realized she had chosen to flee with strangers instead of trusting the man she had known for so long.
A flash of confusion crossed her mind as she remembered seeing Kyle with wings, almost convincing herself that it wasn't truly him. It was becoming clear to Lysandra that Kyle might have had noble intentions.
Though uncertain about her assumptions, guilt washed over Lysandra. Kyle had been by her side for four years, never harming her despite any frustrations he may have had. In that moment, pent-up emotions burst forth, and Lysandra let out a piercing scream, mourning the loss of Kyle
