Conversation With Sam

Acelynn's POV   I found myself in the library sitting in a chair facing a window that overlooked a large flower garden. This situation was hard to process. I was trying mentally to accept it. Physically my body yearned for him almost all the time. Part of me knew my sister was right. If I would give in to the mate bond and mate with Alexander, this would all become much easier. I don’t think I should be Queen, though. I couldn’t help run all the packs in the United States. I had just turned 18. He needed someone older that had more experience than me. Someone that could battle beside him if there was a war.      I was already starting to have feelings for him, and the thought of hurting him was breaking my heart just thinking about it. As I was deep in thought pondering my choices, my phone rang. To my surprise, it was Sam who never called me, but I guess it would be different now since he couldn’t just see me in person.  Acelynn: Hey Sam. How are you?  Sam: I’m doing alright. How are things there? Acelynn: Well…. Sam: Is something wrong? Is he not treating you well? Do I need to come to get you? Acelynn: No, no, calm down. He has been very nice to me. I… I’m just overwhelmed by all of this. There’s no way I can be Queen, right?  Sam: Well, I am glad to hear that you are ok. The Queen part, I don’t really have an answer for you. We are all still shocked by it. You know, though, that dad raised us all with the belief that one day the Moon Goddess would bless us with a mate perfect for us. On that theory, it’s not a coincidence that you are mated to the King. She paired you with him for a reason.  Acelynn: You sound like Alexander now. I get the mate bond, and I feel that pull towards him, but I feel like I am not the right person to be Queen. I don’t think I can lead people or help him to do that.  Sam: Well, luckily for you, I don’t think you will have to do much leading. Think of it like the Queen of England. She is the one with royal blood. She does all the work. Her husband is technically the King, but he doesn’t do a lot. He’s probably more of her supporter and helps with advice things like that. The roles for you are reversed, but I imagine it will be similar for you guys.  Acelynn: I suppose that might be how it goes. I guess I haven’t asked.  Sam: Well, you need to tell him how you feel and ask whatever you need to ask. Now is the time.  Acelynn: You are right. Though talking to him is difficult.  Sam: How do you mean? Acelynn: Well, it’s kind of hard to talk to someone you’ve been taught to submit to since birth. Plus, the mate bond kind of makes it hard to concentrate on the conversation.  Sam: Though that is not something I want to hear from my little sister. I understand and have been told that once you complete the mating process, it will become easier.  Acelynn: Haha, sorry. Bianca told me the same thing.  Sam: Well, I think she was right. She misses you. Everyone misses you.  Acelynn: Alexander was saying that he would like to meet you guys. I’ll have to talk to him, but maybe you guys can come here and stay for a night or two. I miss you guys too. I miss home a lot, actually.  Sam: Say the word, and you know we will come.  Acelynn: I appreciate it, Sam. I’ll let you know as soon as I find out.  Sam: No problem, Ace. I have to go, but it was good talking to you. If you need anything, text or call anytime. You know I’ll do whatever I can. Acelynn: It was great hearing from you. I love you.  Sam: I love you too. Bye. Acelynn: Bye     My eyes teared up as we said goodbye. I did miss my family. I found myself yearning to be hugged by Alexander. I decided to go track him down and hopefully have a conversation about being his mate. He wasn’t in his office, so I thought the next best option was his apartment. As I was walking back, I heard a female giggling. As I got closer to the apartment, it got louder. I rounded the corner to see Alexander standing at the door next to another female. She was tall, thin, and stunning. Something must have been funny because she laughed again as her hand came up to rest on Alexander's arm. Jealousy surged through me as I watched him open the door and let her in, following behind her.
