As I swerved my car to the left, I thought of what could be the best outcome of my meeting with Barrister Parker and the lady. Barrister Parker was the brother of my mom's new man. Before uncle George had retired, he had put me in the care of another high ranking officer. Philip Parker was a very nice man and had been very helpful to me, especially when he learned I was a single father. Most times, he tried to make work bearable for me by letting me close off my shift earlier than I was supposed to.
