Saturday mornings were supposed to be peaceful. Warm sun bleeding in through the curtains, the soft hum of distant chatter from the quad. A quiet start to an unhurried day. But this morning? This morning was cold. Not outside... no. The weather was perfect. But inside the room, the air between Sloane and me was frozen stiff. She hadn't said a word to me since our little banter last night. Not after she got fed up with Adrian and me. I stayed in bed longer than usual, pretending to scroll through nothing, and that's when my phone buzzed. Alexander: "Hey, Kimberly. I really enjoyed spending time with you yesterday. Can't get enough of your beautiful smile. Want to hang out again today?" I stared at the message, thinking of what to send back to him, but I couldn't think of anything.
