Six days before midterms “You think Professor Langston is going to hand out those past questions today?” Sloane asked, stretching her arms above her head as we leaned against the long stone railing just outside the courtyard. I shrugged, sipping the last of my iced coffee. “He’s unpredictable. One minute he’s giving motivational speeches about our bright futures, and the next he’s assigning surprise quizzes like we don’t already have enough to stress over.” Sloane laughed. “God, don’t jink it.” We were early.
