Nadia's heart raced as she entered the prestigious academy, her footsteps echoing through the grand marble corridor. It was her first day, and the excitement was tinged with a hint of nervousness. She had worked hard to earn her place here, and the anticipation of what lay ahead was both thrilling and daunting. As she navigated the labyrinthine hallways, her thoughts kept returning to the mysterious man she had encountered earlier. It had been a rainy day, and she had dashed across a busy street, her heart pounding with fear. Out of nowhere, a car had come dangerously close to her. She had barely escaped the speeding vehicle. She found herself constantly thinking about that mysterious encounter. The academy was a whirlwind of new experiences and challenging coursework. While she continued to navigate her way through the hallway, she heard the loud giggles of women in their short skirts on their lockers, talking about some man. "Have you seen him, Sofie?" The ginger-haired girl asked another woman who was busy arranging her belongings in her locker. Nadia quickened her pace slightly, trying to eavesdrop without appearing too obvious. Sophie sighed and shook her head. "I've been keeping an eye out, but there's been no sign of him yet, Vien." Vien nodded, her frustration and longing evident in her expression. "There's a rumor that he's going to handle some classes this year-" "Oh my goodness! I thought he was going to be in the office-" "No, Vien. Marco told me about it. He confirmed through his father that indeed, your man is out in the office and is handling some classes." The gingerhead squealed and giggled with excitement, her words causing a ripple of curiosity among those nearby. It was clear that this mysterious man was the talk of the academy, and his presence seemed to elicit a mixture of fascination and desire among the students. It was then that Nadia accidentally dropped her sketched map of the academy. She quickly bent to pick up the paper, but the sudden commotion behind her made her pause. A group of students, predominantly women, were pushing and jostling each other to get a better view of something or someone. "Andrew! Come here!" A woman shouted from the group. There, Nadia saw that a group of men, strikingly handsome in their clothes were walking down the aisle, and it was as if they were magnets that they pulled the attention of every woman there and jealousy amongst men. Nadia could sense that they have that aura of authority and power. "Excuse me, miss," the voice said, and Nadia looked up, her heart skipping a beat. Nadia found herself face to face with a tall, dark-haired man who was one of the most captivating individuals she had ever seen. His striking blue eyes seemed to pierce right through her, and his chiseled features exuded an air of confidence that was almost intimidating. He had a rugged handsomeness that was both alluring and mysterious. "Excuse me, miss," he repeated, his voice low and velvety, pulling Nadia's attention away from her thoughts. "You dropped something." He extended his hand, holding the piece of paper she had dropped moments ago. It was one of the things that she wanted to avoid as much as she could, to catch the attention of anyone. She caught a glimpse that it was her sketched map inside the academy which she brought to navigate her way to the office. "Th-that's not mine..." Nadia stammered, her voice trembling as she tried to divert his attention from the sketched map she had dropped. Nadia seized the opportunity to escape the awkward situation and quickly blended into the crowd. She couldn't bear the thought of drawing more attention to herself The man seemed unfazed by the attention he was receiving from the women around him as if he was accustomed to it. Nadia couldn't help but wonder who he was and what his connection to the academy was. "Miko! That's mine-" "No, it's mine." "Ah. Miko." Nadia thought about the name. She guessed that it was the man's name. As the man continued on his way, surrounded by a small entourage of equally attractive men, Nadia couldn't help but feel a strange sense of curiosity and intrigue. Nadia finally made her way to the principal's office. Behind the massive mahogany desk, she beheld a woman whose eyes mirrored the sternness of her surroundings. Nadia felt like a fragile petal in a gusty wind, but she knew she had to stand her ground. "May I help you?" the woman inquired, her tone as formal as the academy itself. Nadia cleared her throat, suddenly feeling a bit overwhelmed. "Yes, I'm Nadia, and it's my first day here. I wanted to inquire about my enrollment and class schedule. Are you the principal-" "No, but I am the staff in charge of the new enrollees in the academy." The woman studied Nadia for a moment before consulting a thick folder on her desk. After a brief search, she found the necessary information. "Ah, yes, Nadia. You're in the freshman class. Your schedule is here, and go next to the quarter's office for your place to stay inside the academy." She handed Nadia a piece of paper with her class assignments. Nadia took the paper and thanked the woman before leaving her office. She felt a mix of relief and excitement. Her footsteps echoed softly on the polished marble floor as she approached the quarter's office. With each step, her thoughts wandered back to the stern woman at the mahogany desk, who had, with a single glance, ignited a spark of curiosity within her. What was it about her, Nadia wondered, that had made her pulse quicken and her cheeks flush? The door to the quarter's office swung open, revealing a cozy, wood-paneled room adorned with vintage paintings and plush velvet armchairs. Behind yet another desk, a striking figure awaited her. This time, it was a man, and he exuded an air of effortless charm that contrasted with the stern woman's formality. "I'm Victor, the housing coordinator for our newcomers. I trust your encounter with Miss Donovan in the principal's office was...eventful?" Nadia couldn't help but smirk at the memory. "Indeed, it was," she replied, her eyes locked onto Victor's, which seemed to hold a hint of mystery. Victor's smile widened as he beckoned her to approach. "We have a charming dormitory nestled amidst the greenery of our campus. Your room assignment is here," he said, handing her an envelope sealed with the academy's emblem. "I think you'll find it quite cozy." As Nadia took the envelope, their fingers brushed briefly, and a jolt of electricity shot through her. And the man smirked at her. "Thank you." She uttered. He nodded. "Nadia, we have a saying here at the academy: 'Embrace the knowledge, embrace the heart.' I have a feeling you're going to embrace both with great passion. You can now drop your things in your quarter. The class will start at 1 in the afternoon today."
