Chapter Thirty-six HorseshoeLogan gave an upward tilt of his chin in acknowledgement of Melissa. She offered Hana an awkward wave before slamming her door and firing up the heavy engine. Logan’s hands clamped around Hana’s shoulders and he edged her sideways, out of the path of Melissa’s wheels. The Landrover rumbled as it reversed from the parking space and ambled back along the driveway to the road. Logan exhaled and left his hands on Hana’s shoulders. “At least she offered to stay with you,” he said. “That’s something. Did she think I might get physical?” Hana shrugged and kept her gaze on his cowboy boots.
