MAYA'S REVENGE

CHAPTER THREE

Maya Pov:

Grabbing my pack back from the table, I kissed my parents on their chicks and blow a kiss to my kid brother but the little mouse glared at me and looked at me disgustingly, I angrily left the house and ask if my day will get any better, stopping at the school gate, I glanced at the school gate and smile knowing that I will graduate this year and will eventually become a medical doctor that I have always wanted to become.

I entered the school and glanced at the school parking spot, only to be met with a deep brown eye staring at me. We stared at each other for hours before I was interrupted by my bestie Kathy.

Kathy has been my friend since our kindergarten, I helped her from some bullies when we were small. Since then we are always glued together and doing things together, sometimes I wish we were siblings.

She is a bit taller than me, jovial and breathtaking with straight legs, she has short red curly hair which always makes her stand out and is easily noticed and she does most of the talking because I'm usually quiet.

I hate that she knows me very well, she knows that I have a huge crush on Steven Mark, the school infamous player and basket captain that discards girls like tissue paper but even though the rumors about him seem real, I feel pulled by him especially whenever we stare for long.

"Maya you know you can ask him out if you want then staring at him as if he is a piece of cake", said Kathy when wearing a smug on her face, I glared at her and said, " Never I can't crush on Steven don't you see how he discards girls and for your information woman, boys asks girls out and not the other way round".

"I didn't say you were crushing on him and you know rumors can't be true sometimes," said Kathy, I know this girl won't allow this talk to slide, so one thing that I know is the best, is by closing my mouth and uttering no word when walking faster to my class which made her burst into a laugh but I don't care.

Lucky me the teacher enters the class immediately she opened her mouth to talk which makes me look at her and throws her a victorious smile, she glared daggers at me, and her eye glints which made me snap my head in her direction "f**k" I murmured which makes her chuckle.

How can I concentrate with Steven sitting at my back with his bestie Collins who's always smiling like an i***t? I looked at Kathy to find her teasing smile back again, I rolled my eyes at her and turned my back to ask our class captain questions but only to be met with that deep brown eye looking at me with love and admiration.

"Maya Johnson face the front and pay attention to the board not because you are smart and intelligent you won't pay attention and stop distracting others and face that your pumpkin face here", our lecturer said causing the whole class to echo with laughter except Kathy, Collins, and Stevens, gosh am embarrassed, will today get any better.

I can't believe that this man disgraced me in front of all my coursemates and most especially in front of Steven, I feel like the ground to open and swallow me," said maya to Kathy when sitting down on her bed squeezing her face. Kathy looks at Maya and smirks, she knows Maya didn't know she just admits that she feels something for Steven.

"Maya I thought you don't like Steven but you seem worried about being disgraced in front of him, if you don't feel anything for him, you won't be like this'', Kathy said to Maya using her hand to gesture at her, Maya knows that her teasing friend is back, she rolled her eyes at her and hiss.

'' look Kathy stop this rubbish, I have told you before and I will still say it again I feel nothing for Steven and besides my parents won't be happy with me if I follow that lane", Maya said to her bestie but Kathy is not having those talks, she knew that her bestie is looking for excuses to deny that she is attracted to Steven, " ok, fine I have heard you but you are attracted to him right"? Kathy asked her, looking her straight in the eye.

"Yeah, I...I…..gosh I am not attracted to him", said Maya staring while looking away from Kathy, which makes Kathy chuckle. "What's funny", Maya said to Kathy while glaring at her.

" Maya you know is not bad to like someone, I know you are scared because of the rumors but trust me Steven feel the same about you, the way he looks at you with admiration and love as if you are the only thing that makes sense in this world", said Kathy to Maya, making Maya blush so damn hard.

" But are you sure Steven feels the same, what if he dumps me as he did to the other girls", said Maya to Kathy? "Even though I don't trust that asshole because of his reputation and image I won't stop, sorry what I wanted to say is we can't stop your feelings for him, Maya, I know you are scared but trust me, you won't regret it", Kathy said to Maya.

Maya peeks at her friend's face to know if she will see any smirk or smugness but she finds nothing but seriousness then she turns fully to her friend " But how can I talk to him when he doesn't give me any attention", said Maya to Kathy worriedly. Kathy turned to her and smirked "I know what will make your day", said Kathy to Maya which made her look at Kathy suspiciously.

" she hopes she won't say or decide something silly", she murmured to herself while bidding with her cloth, she won't lie that she is a bit nervous to hear what she will say because she always knows how to cause trouble or spoil her mood despite her being her best friend.
