CHAPTER 61
GENERAL TAYLOR AND Admiral Parker go to the flight line to meet General Flammang. Within minutes, the Gulfstream 550 approaches. As it touches down and taxies across the airstrip, the Honor Guard move into position and troops of airmen form lines along the perimeter. The plane nears, Taylor calls out to the airmen, and they snap to attention.
The jet pulls to a stop, the door unfolds, and General Flammang steps out. Taylor and Parker salute and lead him to the waiting car.
“Well, gentlemen, you know how to catch my attention. I only have a few hours to spare, so I expect to cover a lot during that time and don’t want to leave without a clear sense of the situation.”
