Chapter 4: Selfish Love

“What's up with you and Kalin?” Riston asked me one early morning

“He was asking me something and I helped him with it” I answer leaning my head onto his shoulder

“Oh really about what....He better not be trying to do anything with you” He fretted as his hand goes through my hair

“..And your being paranoid again. Your siblings are like family to me. Kalin wanted to speak to me alone for a reason. He didn't want to say it to you.” I simply replied

“...Okay I guess that makes sense, but what did Mercina want?”

“I thought I already said it is nothing to worry about and didn't your sister say you already knew?....Right, besides you can just ask.....she probably already told you....and...and” I said nervously breathed on the side of his neck

“My sister says that even though I probably don't know what she is going to say to you.”

“Why don't you ask her sometime?....”

“Can I do anything to make you tell me?” He wondered playfully

“You can try...” I say smiling

Riston stared into my eyes curiously as he caresses his hand across my cheek. Tempting, but no I thought. My lips will be sealed, but I don't mind if you do this to me. He places a finger across my lips as he lifted my chin up with his hand.

“Your beautiful...” He whispered quietly as I feel my cheeks redden

And I could only stare back into his eyes as he took control. I was probably smiling, grinning almost. That's when he inches away from me and as I thought he was going to kiss me doesn't. He just tempts my lips by putting his two millimeters away before backing off as I slightly whimper. I can't control myself. My feelings for him and what I wanted to do. It was insane what he made me feel. No one has done that before but him....but then again I'd never loved anyone as much as I love him. He just grins to himself knowing how much lost I am when he tempted me.

“Riston....” I mutter sadly

I lean against his chest as I slowly put my arms around him. He lifts me up as I stare deeply upon his face. His beautiful face that makes my heart jump. His dreamy smile and his hazel-gray eyes. His wonderful hair that blows across his face.

“Will you tell me?” He asks as he puts his hands on my shoulders

“Will I?” I whisper in his ear

“Senna please, I must know”

As he pleads to me I look at his eyes and I slowly wrap my lips upon his. Hugging him as I kiss him he smiles playfully.

“It's almost sunrise....” I say to him ending the kiss

“Your not getting out of this that easily!” He cried out as I lifted up starting to walk away

“....I don't really know how to say it. I'm not good with words” I protested as I thought of what Mercina said

‘You plan on being together with him forever, right?.... After you graduate your academy you are going to marry him, right?’

Just that thought made me blush. Of course I wanted to, but it just made me nervous, especially in front of her. How would I explain something like that to him.

“That is a lie. Every word you speak out of your lips is beautiful” Riston tells kissing my cheek as we both head off into opposite directions

3rd POV

Ristondany and his siblings headed to the streets going to their excellent academy. The academy was for those who had excellent grades and those with enough money were able to get in. They heard many irritating things everywhere they went and were one of the several families around that was known to go there that had money.

“Here comes the Fancy Evertson family! Did you finally manage to get out of your comfy house?” A voice hollered after them as Ristondany and Mercina rolled their eyes

“Ugh why are some people so annoying?!” Mercina groans

“....And some of the others just use us for our wealth” Ristondany states

“You never know who is just in on it for our wealth either....They all look the same. Most girls just try to get with us and the guys will pretend to be our friends. The actual decent people are hidden in the crowd surrounded by them” Mercina says pointing to the people who were staring at them with greed looks in their eyes.

“If they look attractive and act nice...I think they must be” Kalin remarked

“Don't think like that you'll never know Kal” Alxius tells her brother

“None of these people look attractive....” Ristondany mutters under his breath

“You'll say that about anyone because of Senanne. Your still thinking about her from a little while ago?” Mercina presses

“Obviously....." He says dreamily. "...But none of you understand. Actually...Mercina what were you talking about with her?”

“Well if your not going to answer my questions when I ask you about her, I'm not going to answer yours” His sister replied

“What?! Well she is my business not yours! What did you say to her?” The brown haired threw his hands up in the air complaining

“Ristondany don't make a scene, I know what's good for you”

“Uryghk, sure you do. All I know it is about me and I hate that! You shouldn't talk about me without my presence!” He scrunched up his eyebrows obviously in furry.

“Who said it was about you?” She looked back at him mysteriously.

“Who do you think? I got Senna to tell me” He responds

“Wait she already told you...everything then?”

“No just that”

“Umm guys, maybe you should stop arguing” Kalin pointed out as the random people in the area stared at their argument.

“We are not arguing, just discussing!” He shouted as Mercina gave him a look.

“Okay fine...I told her who you were before you met her”

“Really...why? I was stupid and would always hit on every girl then that I somehow thought was attractive when now I look back and they are obviously not” He states looking disgusted.

“I also vaguely told her about Hailey and Sasha... and Leslie and Brianna....... and Alista and Bella” Mercina smirked smiling slyly.

“Why?! They have nothing to do with me” He furrowed his eyebrows aggressively

“Except when you found out why they were really dating you, the ones you kinda cared about then made you fall into depression” She argued

“First off I didn't date Alista or Leslie I was just bored and hitting on them at a festival”

“Wasn't that after you found about how Bella used you and right before Senanne?”

“Yeah, so what? They were obviously after our wealth and they probably go through different guys every week. What else did you say?”

“I told her what you were like after you found out what they really wanted”

“Ugh please why? Is that it?”

“The last few things I can't really say loudly” She says smirking

“What did you say?!” He replied angrily

“...I asked her if she planned on being together with you forever and then I asked if she planned on marrying you after she graduated” She whispered

“You what?! Why? Seriously Mercina!.....What did she say?” He said as his face turned light shade of pink

“Oh you want to know?” Mercina grins

“Yeah, now tell me” He demanded

“She said she wouldn't live without being together with you forever and then she said she stole your heart years ago and she wouldn't dream of giving it back” She said quietly

“Wow....that's Senna alright and your not making this up”

“Then she said marrying you is a lot to think about and I should speak to you” She whispered again

“You still shouldn't of asked her that!” He yelled irritated and then his mind thinks of what his Senna said earlier then suddenly blushing

‘I'm not good with words’ ‘That's a lie’ he told her back and it all makes sense after what his sister said to him

“But are you going to?”

“I'm not answering that....I'm mad at you right now so don't speak to me unless it is important with life verses death!” He yelled again

“Hey look it's Austin Morales from the foundation” Kalin exclaimed interrupted them.

“Is he decent? I didn't know you were into that...” Ristondany teased

“I'm not, but his sister is actually cute”

“So you're being Austin's friend to get with his sister, your just like the rest of the people” Mercina narrowed her eyes and looked at them

“What? No! Not at all...”

“Well let's see what they are doing here”

“...okay..” He said quietly

“Austin Morales, Hey!” Mercina yelled to Austin, his sister and her friend

“Huh? Did someone say my name?” The blond haired Austin wondered looking around

“Hey...it's that friend of yours...Kalin right?” Marshal, his sister asked

“I have to tell him something, do you mind if we go over there?” Austin asked his sister

“Of course we can say hi to your friend, he actually nice” Marshal said

“Besides I have Marshal with me and they seem nice and very attractive” Alista states

“Hey Austin what are you doing here?” Kalin asked

“We live close by and we are going the way to our academy, what are you doing here” Austin answered

“You live around here?” Kalin exclaimed

“We go to that academy” Mercina says pointing to the large academy in the distance

“Wow...that's fancy. A lot of intelligent or wealthy people go there.” Alista says fixing her hair

“You don't say....” Ristondany says sarcastically

“Oh, this is my sister Marshal and her friend Alista” He explained to the Evertsons

“Oh, nice to meet you” Ristondany says darkly, “This is my sister Mercina, you obviously know Kalin, I am Ristondany, and that is my younger sister Alxius”

“What's up with you?” Mercina asks

“Don't speak to me Mercina, I'm still mad at you” He snaps

“Oh come on!” She says clearly annoyed

“What's with both of you?” Marshal wonders

“Wait!- it's five minutes until the academy starts!” Alista notes

“Nothing...” Both Mercina and Ristondany say at the same time

“Oh it's fine, it's not that bad being late. No one cares at our academy” Alxius tells them

“Don't you get a strike?” Marshal's friend asked

“Yeah, but we pay them to get it off” Kalin tells them trying to impress them.

“So you don't care what time your here?” Marshal asked

“Nope! We can even skip the academy and nobody cares!” He laughed

“You said your name was Marshal, eh? What academy do you go to?” Ristondany asked as he thinks of when he was talking to his Senna and she said something to him

‘Marshal and the rest of them are always trying to get me to go to a festival with them.....’

‘Marshal had her hair in a bun today.....’

‘Marshal's brother asked out Evaline, isn't that funny? I wonder how long that will last’

‘Marshal invited me to her dance competition, but I refused to be with you’

‘Marshal had a sleepover, but I didn't want to go. I'd rather spend my time with where my heart lies’

‘Marshal's brother and Evaline only lasted six weeks haha’

“Marshal decided to do......′

‘Marshal looks stunning’

‘Marshal did....’

‘Marshal ..........that.....’

“Oh the academy to the west of here... Sunny Palm Tree Academy” Marshal expressed

“Interesting I never heard of it....” Ristondany says smirking

“Ristondany don't do what I think you are going to”

“Do what?” He says innocently

“Nevermind”

“Oh uh, thank you for helping my brother, Kalin and in return I was wondering if you like to go to a festival. I have an extra ticket, one of my friends never goes but would you like to?” Marshal asked sheepishly

“Sure...I can make it, right” Kalin responds smiling

“Really?...At 3?” The girl asks excitedly

“Yeah we don’t do much out besides maybe eat at a diner” Mercina says

If another of you isn't busy, maybe you could also come...” Alista says smiling and fixing her hair

“Sorry, I have a girlfriend...and I'm busy” Ristondany rolls his eyes as they leave heading into the academy

Marshal gets excited super quickly after they leave and begin to talk about the festival as they head to their own school. Then they meet up with Evaline and Senanne.

1st POV

“Where is Alista and Marshal?” I asked after saying goodbye to my Riston

“They are not here yet...” Evaline replied

“...And I thought I always ran behind” I say quietly

“Yeah it's kinda odd. They are never this late....I wonder what is keeping them”

“If they don't hurry they might be late and you do not want to be late to our first period with Professor Dangsler. He is taught and has a short temper. I heard if you are late three times he gives you a suspension and it shows up as three strikes and a yellow strike for having a suspension on your record.” I tell her and I can tell I still feel chirpy from Riston's presence, feelings, and his kiss.

“Ahh, it's about time” Evaline says as we spot Marshal, her brother, and Alista

“Sorry for the holdup” Marshal tells us apologetically

“Wow you got here before us...we must of been really late” Alista says

“I am going to start head to my class. It is like a mile away!” Austin exaggerates

“Guess why we were late” Marshal tells us

“Alista got distracted and saw ten million guys that were apparently hot?”

“Haha, no I wouldn't do that!” Alista laughs

“You went shopping?” Evaline guesses

“No, not that either”

“Tell us Marshal” I pleaded

“Me, Marshal, and her brother ran into her brother's friend!” Alista exclaims

“Not just my brother's friend....all of his siblings too! They are spectacular. They are hot too and you know the guy I was talking about....he is the same year as us! He was with them!” Marshal squealed excitedly

“You got to see him Alista? Was he cute or does Marshal have bad tastes?” Evaline asked

“I saw him and I gotta say he was actually cut-No I mean hot, really hot. His older brother was too...too bad he is taken though....if he wasn't I might've-” Alista begins

“Don't you have a boyfriend Alista?” I interrupt and I just thought she goes through guys way too quickly based on if she sees another guy that is either more attractive or has more money

“...Heh yeah but I was just joking......I love my boyfriend.....I absolutely do even if I saw another guy....I would never dump him for someone cuter....” She spluttered. Yeah sure, you sound so believable.

“I talked to him....I actually talked to him and he was nice! His siblings are too.....and you know what sense you never go Senanne I offered him your ticket to the festival, and you know what? He accepted! You don't mind me offering him your ticket do you? You never go so I thought..”Marshal grins

“Wow really? Congratulations Marshal! I don't mind I am busy during the evenings anyways” I say hugging her

“Where do you go in the evenings?” Evaline pinned me with the question

“Oh..uh...you know the usual..uhh...the usual place I go...my...uh...job...I just... didn't want to uhhh tell you about it....” I say nervously before smiling.

“Wow your earning money before us? That's nice” Marshal says laughing

“Hey, is one of our phones ringing? I hear a buzz...” Alista noticed

“Oh, it's....mine?!” I say as I thought why is Riston calling me. I told him that it would be best to not call me during my academy unless it is very important. As I wonder what it is I answer.

“Who is it?” Evaline asked

“Hello, I am at my academy right now with my friends. Did something happen?” I ask nervously

“Can you go somewhere private?” Riston asked

“Wait Senanne is that a new I-Phone X you have? I thought you just had the I-Phone 7 last year.” Marshal asks me too

Putting the phone to my chest I say “It’s....uh...my.......uh... an associate of mine at..... the job of mine and...uh.... he wants to discuss something private so I am....uh... going to a little ways off.” I say avoiding the new phone question that Riston got me for after my last one broke as I go off to talk in private.

“Associate? And of yours? Hahahaha” Riston says laughing on the other end. If only I could see his facial reaction, or his face.

“What is it? I do need to hurry...I cannot be late to my first period, the teacher is the worst about it.” I say anxiously

“No time for me, Senna...How cruel...” He defends himself

“Riston....” I sadly say

“Are any of the ones you hang out with by any chance named Marshal or Alista?” He asked which took me off guard

“What? Y-yeah...why? What happened?” I anxiously question

“I was going to my academy and Kalin sees his friend from the foundation he volunteers at and decides to say hi. Then his friend introduced us to his sister who is named Marshal and her friend Alista.” He tells me

“You mean Austin Morales? Wait-Did they say anything?”

“Well...your friend sort of asked my brother out, your blond pale friend. Then the other one was about to hit on me I think, but I made her embarrassed so she didn't.” He explains

“WHAT?! Marshal asked Kalin out?! Did he know who she was?”

“No, I don't think so....I'll eventually tell them but I am curious what will happen”

“....Alista dares to do that?!? What is wrong with her? She has a stupid boyfriend! Did she touch you or go near you or do anything to you!?!? I'll tell her to back off and stay with one permanent boyfriend!! I can't believe her! Who does she think she is doing something like that!?!” I yell into the phone and I thought what how Alista said ‘..Too bad he is taken though.. if he wasn't I might've...’

“Senna? C-calm down. She didn't do anything. All she was doing was messing with her hair and smiling at me and after Marshal asked my brother. She was about to ask if any of us wanted to go to...then I said straight at her that I have you...I implied it and she got embarrassed.” He says calmly. But he doesn't understand and he is just laughing at me. Call me jealous, but I can't stand that.

“I hate her.....to try to do something like that. ”

“Oh come on now Senna, you know your the only one for me. She is ugly and you are beautiful. You make me complete by thinking and looking at you while she is just a nobody who I don't even remember looks like.....Senna don't fret over something like this, I'll see you soon...I love you”

The rest of the day I feel annoyed, betrayed, and irritated. I want the academy to be over already so I can run into my lover's arms and kiss him while he holds me. I want to be with him and sleep resting my head with his. I want nothing more than to be his. I want to...I need to feel him his soul, his face, and his body. I want him upon me. I just can't stand it anymore. I can't stand being alone here. And after hearing that I need to even more. I didn't talk to anyone for the rest of the day especially Alista. It was the end of the day when my heart finally lifted.

“Senanne, is there something wrong?” Evaline asked

“She been like that all day sense she got that call” Alista noticed

“I'm fine” I mused

“Wait don't go yet...” Marshal grabs my arm as I am about to leave

“Why...I don't want to be late” I say

“Do you want.....you know what never mind just go” Marshal mutters

“...Okay?” I say as I ran fast as I can to our meeting place

“Riston...?” I call out but he wasn't there.....yet

“Ohh...” I mumbled as a light tear fall down my face and then suddenly more and more tears fell from eyes down my cheeks onto the ground.

I was hopeless, utterly hopeless. I couldn't live and Riston is late. He is never late and something must be wrong. Did Riston lie to me, did Alista actually do something to him and he actually loved it better then anything I do to him? Did Alista touch him or kissed him or got close to him? Did he enjoy it? Did he think she was more beautiful than I ever was? I hate it...I want to do something to her....no stop it Senanne I thought. Stop it, he wouldn't do that right...I just getting angry thinking about it....Tears kept falling down my eyes when I felt his presence.

“...Riston” I sobbed

“My love, what is wrong?....You're scaring me. I hate it!” Riston say worried over me

“...leave me” I muttered. I felt betrayed, I need to be alone.

“What? What are you saying?”

“I said what I mean” I told him gloomy

“This is not normal...what is wrong...Please tell me. Let me help. Your the only one for me my dear, and you being like this pains me gravelly”

“...How do you get someone to hate another?”

“What?!”

“I want Alista to hate you...”

“This is what this is about? Ohh, Senna...my love...my dearest you don't have to worry about that. I'll make sure she'll hate me until she wishes she will disappear from the world. You don't have to be jealous or worry about anything else. Your the only person that matters to me. I don't want anything to happen to you and if there anything is bothering you I want you to tell me.” He said as he had his arms around me.

He held me close as I breathed his presence upon his chest. As he caressed my cheeks and dried the tears he lifted my chin up he makes me stare into his eyes. His eyes that are so innocent that would never dare to hurt me in any way. His eyes that are yearning for me. Slowly I felt his breath as he began to breathe on my skin as he allows me to lean into him. I didn’t know what all I was feeling, but I knew I had feelings of irritation, betrayed, and annoyance. I felt despair and yearning for him, but at the same time resented him. I wanted to feel him upon me and he held me closer not ever letting go. I needed him. I let his passion take me in as he brushed his hand all over me. I let him lay me close not letting go. His breath and presence was planted upon me as he slowly took me in getting his lips into mine. I didn’t refuse as he licked into me. He says I’m beautiful, but is it true? Isn’t the others I see more beautiful than I. He must of disagreed for, his lips were on mine as he kissed deeper as if he loved me more than anyone. I was arguing with myself. I hated how he ran into Alista, Marshal, and her brother and how she might’ve have a thing for him. I couldn’t stand that. If she does anything to him....if she gets between us I will not have it. But at the same time it is not his fault. I want to be with him forever. I don’t want him to let go. I want him to hold me and never leave me. I need to be in his arms....forever.

“Don't leave me.....and I'm not jealous” I mutter quietly

“My dearest....that won't happen, I guarantee that. I won't go. Not near or far. Not anytime soon. I won't ever.” Riston said indulging his arms around me

“I'm sorry...I was being selfish...” I say quietly walking a bit off

“Shh, it's fine....Do you want to go somewhere special with me?” He asked me holding out his hand

“Where is it?”

“Shh....you'll see” He secretly told me holding my hands and leading me forward

The two go off together somewhere secretly, while Kalin begins to head over to meet Marshal as Mercina and Alxius warns him to be careful. Him meeting them was dangerous and something could easily happen to make everything change, truths revealed, and him be in dangerous of Marshal or her friends’ wrath.
