12. The Honey Wagon It was just after full dawn on his first Monday morning in Sçid Çándl when Ethan gave up on sleep and climbed out of bed, more exhausted than when he’d gone to bed. At least I’m off the floor. Despite the sauna, he scratched itches in personal places where normally he did not. Imaginary bugs flitted across his body as he poured the last of the drinking water out of the five-gallon jug into the aluminum coffee pot. Have to fill that and do the dishes. He lit the propane burner before he stepped outside to relieve himself, so, within minutes of his return, he had poured a mug of thick, black percolated coffee.
