Thunder rumbles softly in the background as I trudge into the office. My second day at work and I have arrived sopping wet. At least there are no amnesiac bosses welcoming me with impossible orders. “It should be illegal to come to work on rainy mornings,” Patty’s groan ushers me into the open floor plan secretaries’ space. Two other secretaries yawn. I shuffle through, trailing rainwater and a meek wave as I try not to shiver.
