Chapter 6: The Tour

1090 Words
KALISIA Sadly, our 5 minute trip was full of weirdness and silence. He acted like he really wanted to say something to me, but just couldn't get it out. We slowly crept up to the Principal's office door, and finally he turned around and looked at me. Mother of gawd those beautiful blue eyes melted me. "So uh, here we are." Could we just sit and stare at each other? Yes, I would like that very much? "Oh uh, thanks." Way to sound disappointed and desperate yeesh. "Um, what brings you to...." He was finally starting to talk to me when this poorly dressed lady came storming up on us completely interrupting our conversation. Bitch. "Oh, there you are! You must be Kalisia Cross. I was expecting you here sooner!" Oh, of course. It was the principal. She looked way too young to be a principal. She had on a Christmas-looking polo and smelt like cats, with huge glasses engulfing her dark perfect-skinned face, and black khakis. This lady was trying way too hard to be older than she was. She couldn't be older than 30. She was gorgeous underneath that costume. She had short black hair and big brown eyes. I wondered why she hid all of that beauty under this gross attire? "Uh, yeah sorry. I got lost, but found this nice guy here to show me around." I tried to avert away from the fact that I had no intention of going to my first class. I did not want to see dad at all and would have done anything to avoid him. "How nice of you Devon! How would you mind showing Kalisia here to her homeroom class?" Oh joy, so much for getting out of that. "Here's her schedule." As she handed it to him, she almost dropped the paper onto the ground from shaking so much. What the hell is wrong with this lady? She acts like I'm going to chew her head off or something? Dad must have told her. Of course, another person to pity me for what's happened. Wonderful, there's no telling how many people know now. Devon slowly skimmed my schedule looking fairly amused by it. He started laughing, and for the life of me, I was completely blank on what could possibly be funny. "Ah, boy. Your homeroom teacher is Mr. Cross. Good luck with that one." Oh no, he knows dad, and from the look on his face, he doesn't care for him too much. Hm, I'm starting to like this guy even more. "Mr. Lochlan! Don't be rude!" The Principal snapped at him, causing me to jump back from her reaction. This lady is crazy. She paused for a bit, but had a ridiculously embarrassed look on her face. After a few seconds, she stormed off into her office, slamming the door behind her. What the hell was that about? Still sitting in complete shock wondering if I should make a run for it and call an institution to have them come check out my principal, Devon interrupted my thoughts with his bursts of laughter. "She has a little 'thing' for Mr. Cross." He stated while motioning air-quotes when he said thing. WHAT?! "You're joking?" Was all I could say before I started exploding with laughter myself. Imagining someone liking my dad shocked me and was too hilarious. I mean, I'm sure he looked good in his younger years, but he looked like a complete dork now. I guess my explosive laughter gave it away, because Devon responded with, "wait, do you know him?" I figured he'd find out anyways, so why lie about it. "Yeah, he's kind of my dad." I couldn't break from my laughter, but this time it was nervous laughter as I wasn't sure how he would take it after learning that. "You're joking!" Oh, no. I stopped laughing, because his reaction was more out of fear than humor. "Well, I guess I better be showing you to your homeroom." I guess I killed the moment. Before I could say anything in return, he walked past me and down the hall. I was frozen in place studying my mind on where I screwed up as I over-analyzed everything and every conversation I have with everyone. I cussed at myself and examined the entire conversation we just had until I couldn't see him anymore. Then, after I was finished torturing myself enough on how f****d up I am, I raced after him. I ran around the corner and down the hall he took a left turn at almost running straight into him. "Well, here we are at your homeroom classroom." Yay. More like my death trap. I'm sure dad has something embarrassing planned for my grand entrance. Especially, since I'm super late to class now. "Kind of unfortunate your homeroom teacher is your dad." "Yeah, he thinks he needs to keep a close eye on me." I waited a few moments for a response, but nothing. I then came to the conclusion that I'd already f****d up with him somehow, so I figured I needed to end this moment before it gets too more embarrassing. "Well, uh, thanks for showing me!" My voiced squeaked. Oh my gosh, how embarrassing. Duck and run, duck and run. I looked down and started to dart into the classroom, but he stopped me in my tracks. "Um, if you want, you can find me at lunch and we can hangout." Well, that went in a direction I never thought it would. He's actually asking me to eat with him at lunch?! Well, what would it hurt? "I'd be happy to." AND there it was, that smile and those dimples that almost make my knees collapse right under me. He already had some kind of spell on me. "Awesome! I mean, I'd like that." He had his hand in front of his mouth as he spoke like he had to cough. Could he be any more adorable? "See you then!" I responded normally this time and not in some awkward or squeaky voice for once. He waved, turned around, and headed in the opposite direction down the hall with his hands in his blue jean pockets. I watched him leave until the coast was clear, and then I did my own little cheer dance. OMG! The hottest boy asked ME to sit with him at lunch. Eeek! Once I was done embarrassing myself in front of no one, I straightened myself out and headed into my classroom of doom.
