Mom... I felt the cold round metal in my palm. I open my tired eyes to look at it and felt my body relax further in the warm sheets. The calming tiny sound coming out of the 'music clock' as I call it, surrounded the huge room I'm staying in. My mom. She's beautiful as ever. Her hair was always long. Wavy golden brown. Mine was short and quite lighter than hers, making me look like a cherub as my mom would say to me before. She has dark brown eyes and mine was an icy blue that changes colors when hit by light. Blue to a little bit of a purple shade. I stared at my Dad's face. He was hugging my mom from behind. He was tall. His skin was like ivory. Like the man who took me in. Come to think of it. I don't even know his name and I barged in his house like this. Anyway, continuing after a sigh. My dad has platinum blond hair. So blond it was almost white. He rather looked like an arc angel. In other terms. He looked heavenly. I guess I got my eyes from him. Icy blue that pierce into you. I never had seen him. Mom said she'll go home with him. I always wonder how it felt like to have a complete family. But mom left me. Then my only family left. Died. I run away that night. With only grandma's words with me. "I'll miss you, my dear grandson. You're a gift from heaven. Go and find her. When you do, lecture her to not leave such kind boy like you. I love you, my grandson." I closed the clock and wore it around my neck like a necklace. Grandma made it for me. It made me feel close with my parents. I sat up, rubbing my eyes trying to remember how I got here. I got cold and fainted? Like a sick kid. Maybe I am truly still just a kid. I sighed and felt the silky pajama on me fell off my shoulder. It was big on my small body. I stood there staring at the whole room I am in feeling smaller by the size of the room. So big. Looking around the room, looking at the large book shelves and the furniture suddenly I hear the door open. There he stands, holding a tray of food, the man who saved me. He eyed me and I tilted my head on the side with confusion. He just looked away clearing his throat. I swear I saw him wince a bit. Why? He walks towards the lounge area, placing the tray on the coffee table. I approach him and eyed the food with amazement. It was those luxurious gourmet food that you can only see in magazines. He smiled at me and sat on the couch, patting the space next to him. I walk towards him and sit right next to him. Looking at him waiting. Then he suddenly lets out a short laughter at my slight pout that I didn't intend to make. He reaches towards me fixing my pajamas on place and he comb my bed hair with his long fingers. Flinching at his cold hand that touch my skin ever the slightest while he just smile at me. "Your hair is so soft, smooth. Like a girl's hair." He burst out of laughter when I glared at him. Narrowing my eyes at him. I then put my focus on the food that he started to prepare, cutting the juicy, medium rare steak into bite size pieces. He stabs one with the fork and mixed it with some organic brown rice, veggies and some steak sauce. He lifted it and fed me. I open my mouth and ate the most delicious food I had tasted. It was amazing. I eyed him as he fed me and I just let him. Wondering what could his name be. Why would someone like him take care of a lost weak boy like me? "What is it? You looked like you want to ask me something." He said, smiling. Why does he always have that warm smile when he look at me? I pointed at him and he looked like he was thinking on what my gesture meant. I wrinkled my nose and he chuckles. "I get it. I do. It's rude of me. I didn't introduced myself." I nod a little bit more excitedly. Wondering how he understood me. I just pointed at him. Huh? "My name is Liam Night." Liam.. So he's Liam. "Liam!" His smile faded into an unreadable expression. Why? Was it because of that man? He's tall. Has the same ivory skin as Liam. But he has dark eyes and blood red hair. "What is it?" Liam's voice came out cold and tired. He just grab a blanket and with one move - like last time - he place it over me. Why would he cover me? I'm not cold. "The Council are summoning you." he says. I watch Liam grip the blanket a bit. "Tell them I'll be out in a minute." The man nod, looking at me with a scowl etched on his face. Liam then glared at him making him look away looking rather frighten. "Go. Now, Cros." So he's Cros. I noted his name in my head. Cros left after bowing. "Sorry. I'll leave for a while. You can go roam around the house if you want." I nod as his smile returns. The cold air around him broke and his stoic face fell when Cros left the room. I felt more comfortable around that. His smiles. His care. He's very gentle and warm despite his cold skin. One day and I felt like I've known him forever. I nod and stood when he did. "I left some clothes in the bathroom. Go wash. I don't know when I'll return." When.. He'll.. Return? "Wait for me ok--" I shake my head hard in panic and I didn't know why but I hug him, clinging onto him. Making the blanket on me fell on the floor. He stills but he was able to respond a second later, turning to hug me in a tight embrace. "Warren?" Don't.. Don't say that. Don't say it. I don't want to wait.. Not again.. "I get it.. I'm sorry. I'll be back at exactly 7pm. I promise." He gently pats my back, caressing my hair as if aiding me to calm down. Snapping out of it, I wanted to let go but he just hugs me tighter. His long arms wraps around me so perfectly. I can feel his cold skin underneath his shirt but somehow, he was warm to my touch. He felt as warm as he held me like he never wanted to let go. As if I was too precious for him. I can feel his worry. He didn't want to leave. He wanted me by his side. Like I wanted him with me. I nod and he finally let goes. With a force smile etch on his face, he turns around. He was hurt. I can feel it. He didn't want to look away. To let me go. He forced himself and left me. How did I know? Maybe that's how he understood me without words. Like how I understood and felt his feelings as well. I did as he said and took a long bath in his rather huge bathroom. The bath felt nice. The clothes he got me were some white sweater and black jeans. He even knew my exact sizes this time around. I walk out of the room and I now conclude. This is really a Palace. Well for me anyway. I felt so tiny here. I just want to run and hide. Everyone I see seems tall. So tall! Or am I just too small? I pass some maids who bowed at me. Why would they do that? They'll stop what they're doing and bow. Huh? I walk around again. Eyeing the large paintings on the walls. I felt like I'm in a dream. A very long one too. Can there be really a house like this? I wonder how much it costs. I kept walking and finally found the stairs. My jaw drops. It was amazing. The stairs were like those in the mansions I see on pictures. It's amazing. I walk down slowly. The shoes, Liam got me squeaks on the floor as I step down every step. Looking around once again, walking carefully and peeking in every room. Finally I made it in the kitchen. "Holy!! s**t you scared me!" I jumped at his scream. He has ash brown hair and amber eyes. He was masculine and has that dangerous air around him that gives me goosebumps. He glares at me. Why? What did I do? "Filthy human. You will not take my brother from me." He said. His voice tight with anger. Who was he talking about? Liam? I eyed him and he growled. What the heck? What did I ever do to make him mad? I don't even know him. "Speak you weakling!" My hands clenches looking down on my feet. "Damn it. I'm itching to tear your head off." There was that tone in his voice that he was serious. It's not just a threat. It's a warning. I look at him. I met his amber eyes and he.. Did he flinch? "s**t! What's with your eyes changing colors like that?! You weird human!" My eyes? Is it because of the color? My blue eyes are so light that under a certain lighting it turns from blue to purple. "Marco! Shut up. If Liam find out you're threatening him, you're dead." Cros. That man. So he’s here too. I didn’t notice him. Where did he came from? "Like he'll kill me." "He can and you know that, more than anyone." Marco? So he's Liam's brother. "f**k it, get him out of my kitchen!" He orders Cros and that's when I noticed. He was cooking. I smelt the steak. It was the one I ate. He cooked it? "Why're you outside Liam's chamber?" Cros asks me. Anyone wouldn't dare ignore him. He was filled with authority almost like Liam's cold side. I don't like it. It scares me. "Don't bother, Cros. He won’t speak up. Maybe he's mute. Weak human." Marco said making me look down again. "You're mute?" He sounded concern to my surprise. So he was not as cold as I thought he was. He was kind but acted cold like Liam. Wait! Why the heck do I mention his name too many times? I can't believe this. I nod turning on my heels wanting to walk away but Cros grabs my arm, stopping me. "Wait. Where are you going? Liam will look for you." He says quickly letting go of me as if he's done something wrong and will be punish by it. I shake my head and pointed outside. "The garden?" I nodded and he nods as well smiling slightly. Well I guess he smiles too. Breaking that tight air around him and I swear I saw Marco's glare at him and then at me. Again. What did I do to him? "Cros! Let the human leave! Help me here." He says. "I will." Cros replies at the grumpy guy over his shoulders and looks back at me. "Don't go too far. The garden is huge and you might get lost." I nod and left. Still hearing their conversation like they’re arguing. "You're so soft, Cros. Tsk. I hate you." "What can I do? I don't like anyone, you included, to step on someone as fragile as him. Human or no human. It's wrong." "Fragile my ass! Get the pan heated!" "Fine. I'm on it." Cros was right. The garden was huge and I got lost. I saw a courtyard in the middle of the garden. Or what I guess is the middle. I look around the flowers. They were amazing. I always love flowers. Though they were frozen. How did it not wither during the winter? It just froze but retain its shape and beauty. Somehow. That amused me. I was about to grab one but I stop when someone speaks behind me. "Don't do that." I look up at a beautiful woman with long raven black hair and golden brown eyes. She smiles at me and holds my hand that was about to reach for the flowers. I wince at her cold hand as she eyes me puzzled. Who is she?
