I stared out over the water at the MacKellar Estate while Knox told me the stories he’d heard over the years about the family who founded the town, and the feud between them and the other family that originally settled in the area.
“So, Catherine Park is named for Trent MacKellar’s mom?” I asked.
Knox nodded. “Yep. She wanted a place for the entire town to come together and enjoy each other’s company. Supposedly, it was really important to her. Her husband donated the land to the town with the stipulation it was only ever used for a park and for town events. No private citizen could ever buy the property for their own personal use.”
“What about weddings or events like that? Can it be used for that?” I asked.
