Chapter 5 Another spasm shook me as I fought a wave of unease. I perched over the toilet and vomited everything I ate today. Bagel, apple, chicken caesar salad, it all came up. Once I stopped vomiting out my guts, I grabbed a tissue, and dabbed away the remaining puke from my mouth. The taste of vile made me want to throw up again, but I went against it. My mind scrambled as I thought about the food items. How could such a simple breakfast and lunch make me so sick? Realization shook me. I’d been nauseated for days. But was it the stomach flu or a rancid meal? I flushed the toilet and ambled to the sink to wash my mouth with water. I gripped the counter and leaned in to the mirror to examine my blotchy face.
