HAZEL The car ride down west is spent in perpetual chaos. I don’t know how Rachael did it but she managed to snag us a mini-van. There’s enough room for everyone. She passes out beer cans to everyone, as well as bags of chips. “Get comfortable friends,” she says loudly from the front. Next to her, Trent is driving the van. On the next row, Larry and Frankie are sandwiched together. They aren’t exactly talking. They just keep stealing awkward glances at each other. I’m in the last row with Kelly and Alison. Alison is stoked to be going on a road trip with us. Since we got on the road, she’s been unable to keep still. She’s currently on her third can of beer, while I can barely bring myself to finish my first one. After the night of the k********g, I’ve been incredibly wary of alcohol.
