CELESTE I’d never felt so unmoored. The moment I escaped the dining room, I didn’t stop moving. I needed space. Air. And distance from him. I reached my room and slammed the door behind me, twisting the lock before leaning my back against it. My heart was still racing like I’d sprinted miles. I pressed a hand to my chest and cursed softly. “What the hell is wrong with me?” The silence mocked me.
