Cameron is outside my house honking his horn. I hear my phone ringing and it’s Cameron telling me to hurry or we’ll be late for school. “I’m coming out now” I say. I grab a bagel and go out the front door. I walk down the sidewalk and get in Cameron’s car. We head to school. Pulling in the parking lot we see our fellow classmates staring at a 67’ Chevy Impala that we’ve never seen before. We look at each other then shrug as we exit his car.
Upon approaching the interest we see a tall dark haired boy we don’t recognize and stop. We turn to the young man and introduce ourselves. “Hi, I’m Scarlet and this is Cameron.” The young man reaches out and shakes my hand and says “Hi, I’m Damien.” Then he shakes Cameron’s hand. “So, are you new to the area?” Cameron asks. “Yes, I am. Today is my first day” Says Damien. “Welcome to Supernatural Academy Damien” I say. “I’ll show you to the admissions office” says Cameron.
Cameron and I walk Damien into the building and we head for the admissions office. Cameron opens the door and Damien and I walk in with Cameron behind us. We step up to Miss Claymore’s desk and greet her. “Good Morning, Miss Claymore this is Damien and today is his first day.” She looks up and greets us saying “Give me a moment to print that up.” She walks over to printer and grabs the paper she just printed and hands it to Damien.
Cameron and I glance at the schedule and inform Damien that he’s in 3 of the classes Cameron and I share. Walking down the hall we head to Honors English with Damien next to us. I open the door for Cameron and Damien to step in and I follow. Cameron and I head to our seats. Damien approaches the teacher and says “Hello, my name is Damien and it’s my first day. The teacher looks up and tells him to introduce himself to the class. Damien turns around and says “ Hi my name is Damien and I’m from Bakersfield. My family just moved here.”
The class all say Welcome and the teacher instructs Damien to have a seat. Damien sees a seat near Cameron and I and he walks over to us “Do you mind if I sit here?” He says. “No not at all.” I say. “That’s fine.” says Cameron. “ Alright class lets open our text books” says the teacher. Cameron and I scooted closer to Damien so we all could share our text because Cameron forgot his at home and Damien hasn’t gotten his yet. “Turn to Lesson 5” instructs the teacher and we do as we’re told.
