I closed my eyes to take stock of what I had just heard and what we already knew.
We knew that Richard was investigating whether Alpha James had been violating wolf law by bringing humans onto pack territory, first with me then (most likely) with the rest of my family.
We also knew that he was openly training a hell of a lot of rogues to be a part of his "pack" for when he was going to take down us, which I immediately thought was unlikely.
However, the fact that Richard had enlisted outside help from our rival pack was unforgivable. This felt medieval and dirty, and an incredibly small part of me that I was trying my damnedest to ignore was impressed with him, because this would be something that I would have done.
