Mays pov}

We have been with dad & Liz for two days now. Let me tell you, Liz is just the best. This place is a little weird, though; there are many big wolf-like dogs always running around and fighting. Dad says he’ll explain all that later this week when Mr. Smith gets back from a business meeting not sure who he is or why we need him, but ok. We are pretty far away from town & way off in the woods.

Jesse is babysitting Dovey today while Liz takes Rose shopping. They offered to take me, but I didn’t need anything. I have more than enough stuff. Jesse rose, and Dovey is sharing a room right now until dad finishes the bigger house, he says. He says by next weekend.

I just got back from a walk around this place & I can hear little Dovey laughing at the park next to the house. So I walk over. I haven’t held her yet or even gone near her because I’m not sure rose is comfortable with me yet. I hope we can get back to how we were before dad left. I always loved Rose, and she never deserved anything mom and Mark did to her.

I wish I had stuck up for her all those years when she needed a big sister, but now I was too scared to stand up to Mark & Mom. Mark never really liked me either after dad left, but he wasn’t allowed to treat me like Rose because I stayed on moms good side.

I decided to retake a walk because there’s nothing for me to do, yet I need to make friends around here fast. On my walk, I bumped into a guy named Lee. Something inside me screams mine. He smells fantastic, like fresh rain & coconuts. We walk & talk for hours until I hear dad calling me because Liz & Rose are home. I turn to Lee. It was nice meeting you. Hopefully, we can talk again. I’ll see you later. I start walking back before I turn around and call his name. He runs over to me fast, and I blush before giving him my number and asking him to call me later. He gives me his number & I walk back to the house smiling.

{Mark pov}

I’m up really early today because I’m in pain. Mom & her boyfriend jumped me Saturday when she finally came home. It was fine until she realized Rose, May & their stuff were gone. I have been stuck with this b***h and her bf for two days. I packed my bags last night and put them in my car while she slept.

I’m out in the shad that rose once slept in. I don’t know how rose did it for ten years & with my niece when I didn’t sneak Dovey in the house. Rose nor anyone even knew I took the baby at night most of the time. God, I can’t wait for school to start. I was supposed to go to boot camp at the end of this week, but mom canceled the payment after she found out the girls had left.

Then she turned me into her house slave, but I’m leaving today after school. Dad asked me to stay with him & some random voice in my head told me to go and that I needed to be there. Mom tells me he’s not my dad, but I know he’s my real dad the voice I've been hearing since my 17th birthday tells me he’s my real dad. I got a DNA 3 years ago. I plan on asking dad to do it with me so I can know for sure.

It’s finally time to leave for school f**k that b***h; I’m not making her breakfast. I grab the last of my things that I’m taking and my book bag, jump in my car, and head to school.

May is standing there with dad & Rose; thank god I need to talk with him. Dad, I yell, slowly limping and holding my side. Rose looks at me, shocked & dad yells wtf happened to you? I tell them everything and ask dad if I can come to stay with him also. Tears build up in his eyes, and he hugs me softly. Yes, my baby boy, you can stay with us as long as you like.
