Chapter 4 The Queen Bee!

1010 Words
His wild, captivating eyes locked onto mine as if he could devour me whole. Yet, his tone was utterly submissive and obedient, creating a stark contrast that left me momentarily stunned. Suddenly, I recalled the dream, swarms of bees surrounding me. 'Could it be true? Did the drones worship me, craving my attention, while the worker bees obeyed my every command without question? But this strange power was now affecting humans instead?' After a moment, he remained motionless as if waiting for my instructions. As I realized the truth of the situation, my initial unease shifted into a calm acceptance. Whenever our eyes met, I couldn't help but feel a flush of embarrassment under his intense gaze. A strange warmth spread through my body, making my skin tingle and flush with heat, and I knew I knew I had to take control of the situation before it got out of hand. Looking at him, I commanded. "Stay right there and don't move until I say so." His eyes burned with fervor as he responded in a mechanical tone, "I need a reward from you before I can continue to follow your orders." "What?" I blurted out, caught off guard. I swiftly planted a kiss on his cheek to test if he would truly obey. His stubble scratched my lips slightly, and the strong scent of his masculine cologne enveloped me, making my face flush even deeper. His deep, mesmerizing eyes bore into mine, causing me to flee in embarrassment. True to his word, he remained motionless, not even attempting to threaten me. At that moment, I finally believed in the strange powers the queen bee had bestowed upon me. Back in the study, I focused on my most pressing task: finding the vials. As I scanned the bookshelf, I noticed an unexpected change in my vision. Even in the darkness, I could see clearly. I realized that my body had undergone changes far beyond just controlling others. Soon, I discovered a pen case tucked away in a hidden compartment. Inside were neatly arranged pens, each loaded with various experimental reagents. "Thank God, the M1 inhibitor is still here," I whispered, clutching one pen tightly. Then, my gaze fell on another pen, and a fragment of memory flashed through my mind. "This one... It's a healing serum. It was tested alongside the anti-cancer serum, and both were deemed ineffective. But could the data have been falsified too?" A daring thought crept into my mind. 'If this were true, then my mentor's work was also buried unjustly.' Determined, I decided to test the healing serum first. Returning to the living room, I found the mysterious man still standing obediently, his intense, wild eyes tracking my every move. My heightened senses picked up the metallic tang of blood, making my stomach churn. I lifted the edge of his shirt, revealing his firm, chiseled abs soaked in a scent of raw masculinity. Beneath the fabric, a gash bled profusely. "Sorry, but I need to use you as my test subject," I murmured, brushing my hand against his face. He softened under my touch, leaning toward me, but I sternly ordered him to stay put. With the pen in hand, I switched it into injection mode and administered the serum directly. The wound on his abdomen began closing up before my eyes, fresh pink flesh forming beneath the drying blood. "Oh my God, it works." I gasped, barely able to believe it. Within seconds, his wound stopped bleeding, leaving no trace of the injury behind. I took a deep breath, a realization dawning on me. 'The biological serums Professor Andrew and I developed, our data and conclusions had been altered. What was meant to help humanity had been deliberately halted.' A chill ran down my spine as I pieced together a terrifying possibility. "Could that lab accident have been staged all along?" I shuddered, cold sweat dripping down my back. Clenching my fists, I steeled my resolve, staring at the vials in my hand. "Professor Andrew, no matter how dangerous it gets, I will uncover the truth behind our experiments and let you rest in peace." I could never forgive the abrupt termination of the experiment, which destroyed the dream my mentor and I shared. I made up my mind. 'I will reveal everything.' Brushing aside my thoughts, I prepared to command the man to stay while I made my escape. But just then, the front door burst open. Two men in black stood in the doorway, their figures silhouetted by the moonlight. In the same instant, a gun was aimed directly at me. Their expressions shifted from surprise to cold calculation as they spotted the man beside me. "Riise, long time no see. Didn't expect to catch you here, fooling around with a woman," one of them sneered. "Too bad. The blood trail led us right to you. You can't escape now." My heart pounded as I faced the black barrel pointed at me. 'It is a handgun, a lethal weapon!' "Who are you? What do you want?" I demanded, my voice trembling. The man in black smirked, his tone devoid of pity. "Are you Riise's girl? Sorry, but we'll have to kill you." The murderous intent in their eyes sent chills down my spine, and without thinking, I shouted, "Riise, protect me. Kill them!" As soon as I said that, a shiver ran through my body, that familiar electric sensation surging through my veins. A unique scent filled the air. In the blink of an eye, he moved. His speed was terrifying, faster than I could have ever imagined. Before the gunmen could react, before they could even pull the trigger, Riise had snapped their necks. The entire confrontation lasted no more than thirty seconds. As the scent dissipated, dizziness crashed over me like a wave. I could feel my strength draining rapidly. 'Had I overused this new power?' Riise slowly approached me, his eyes blazing with desire and something more profound. My legs buckled, and the world went dark as I collapsed.
