Chapter 16
As they finished their toast, Alex turned to Julia, his curiosity piqued. "Julia, can I ask, what's the plan for Diamond's education? Is she enrolled in a school here?"
Julia took a sip of her coffee, her eyes thoughtful. "Actually, Alex, that's something I've been worried about. Diamond was supposed to start at Lead City International School, but with our sudden move, I'm not sure if we'll be able to get her in this late in the semester."
Alex's brow furrowed in concern. "That's a great school, but it's also very competitive. Do you think Diamond would be okay with the curriculum?"
Julia nodded, her expression confident. "Diamond is a bright kid, Alex. She'll adapt. But I'd love to explore other options, too. Do you know of any other good schools around here?"
Alex leaned back in his chair, his mind already racing with ideas. "Actually, I have a friend who works at a great school not too far from here. I can put in a word for you, if you'd like. And, I was thinking, it might be good for Lucas to switch schools too. He's been struggling a bit, and a fresh start could do him good. Plus, it would be great for them to be in the same school, don't you think?"
Julia's eyes lit up with excitement. "That would be amazing, Alex! Thank you so much for your help!"
Alex pulled out his phone and dialed a number, a smile spreading across his face. "Hey, Dora! It's Alex. I have a favor to ask... I've got a friend who's looking for a great school for her daughter, and I immediately thought of Living Spring Academy. Would you be able to put in a good word for her? And, I was thinking, Lucas could use a fresh start too... What do you think?"
Dora's warm laughter echoed through the phone. "Alex, you know I'd do anything for you! I'll make sure to reserve two spots. Bring them by tomorrow, and we'll get the paperwork started."
Alex beamed, relieved. "Thanks, Dora! You're a lifesaver!"
Julia's eyes shone with gratitude. "Thank you, Alex.
