~Daryian~
As soon as I entered home, mom's at the door, almost bouncing from excitement but also a little concerned seeing I'm home way too early.
"What happened? How did it go? Why are you home already?!" She fired.
I removed my shoes and stepped inside, going to the kitchen to get a glass of water since my throat's hurting from swallowing a huge bite of toast earlier.
After I've soothed my throat and put my backpack down by the couch, I faced mom who has been waiting patiently.
"So- uhm- I was kinda told to leave for the day."
Her eyes widened.
"You're fired already?!" She raised her voice and I flinched.
"No, mom! I said 'told to leave for the day'. Not 'don't ever come back'."
She sighed dejectedly. "But why?"
My turn to sigh, I rubbed my temple. "Let's sit down and talk."
So, I shared her all the details and I could tell she's ready to explode and scold me to her heart's content, telling me how my behavior always leads me to my doom;
So, I'm quite surprised when she instead hugged me tightly.
I relaxed in her arms and let my head fall on her shoulder as she rubbed my back and stroked my hair.
"I'm sure you're gonna be just fine. You'll slay tomorrow, I can feel it. If she gave you a chance, use it properly. Don't disappoint her, or me."
I nodded against her and smiled, exhaling in relaxation.
How did I get so lucky to have such an understanding mom?
"I love you." I mumbled.
She kissed the top of my head and held me tight.
"I love you too."

After lunch, I spend the whole day researching and contacting people around Lucille. In an attempt to get as much information about her as possible.
I checked the mail Elena had sent me earlier and clicked it open.
Fuck. That's a huge ass list.
The few points that caught my eyes are;
Always be clean and tidy
Be on time
Don't sneeze in front of her?
Don't mishap on the schedule
Don't lie
And the list went on and on.
But what would I do if I'm suddenly sneezy? What kind of demand was that?
Ughhh! Anyway, since I promised to return with a bang, I must be on point.
My attention broke to my friend calling me to join on the video game.
Let's take a break.
I pushed away my laptop and Ipad, and settled down in front of the monitor with my controller.
"Hey bro!" Jamie's voice boomed in my headphones and I have to pull it away a little to save my eardrums from bleeding.
"How was your day at work?" Nate asked.
I shrugged then realized they couldn't see me.
"Meh."
"Did you cause trouble?" Jamie snickerd.
"Just play, James." I said and they didn't reply further.
"Is the boss a male or female?" Nate chimed again.
"Female."
"Wooo! Is she hot?!" Jamie shrieked again.
"Shut it, James! Don't shriek in the headphones like that."
"Sorry. But is she hot?"
I rolled my eyes, groaning and tapping aggressively to focus on the game.
"I don't know. I go there to work. Not lust over my boss."
"Jamie, let it be. He caused trouble and now he's sulky." Nate retorted, and Jamie chuckled in agreement.
I silently fumed.
"By the way, I've met this girl at work." Nate began and our interest piqued.
"Tell me tell me!" Jamie chanted with me backing him up.
"Her name's Maria. She's an intern and we have so much similarity, man. I feel like I'm already in love." He explained dreamily, and we burst into laughter.
"Dude, you joined work a month ago. You can't fall in love in a month!" I yelled.
"He's not in love, he's fallen in lust." Jamie being Jamie mocked, and Nate got furious.
"It's not always about s*x! You won't understand love so do not come judging me!" He went offline after that.
We remained silent for a couple seconds till Jamie broke it.
"s**t. My man's down bad."
I nodded in agreement.
"We're gonna have a sister-in-law soon, Dary."
He remarked, making me laugh.
"Let's finish this round and call it a night."

I woke up two hours earlier the next day and got ready, not to repeat any mistake from yesterday.
I saw mom waiting for me in the kitchen with breakfast. I greeted her with a kiss on her head and sat down to eat.
"You're looking handsome, baby." She gushed, tucking some of my hair behind my ear.
I grinned, loving the warmth in her identical green eyes that resembled mine.
I sometimes wish I looked more like dad so he could live among us, and mom would see his visuals for a little longer.
But I'm also very glad that I was almost a replica of my mom. It made me proud.
The same sandy blonde hair, fanfiction green eyes and button nose.
In one glance, anybody could tell I'm my mom's son.
"I've packed some lunch for you." She said and handed me a fancy lunch bag.
I rolled my eyes, smiling. She insisted on buying this bag when we went shopping for work.
Mom worked from home, as a Freelancer, so she's mostly home and has free time to do stuff for me.
Though I've told her to not busy herself with my chores but she said she loved doing things for me. So, I let her.
"Thanks, mom." I said and accepted the bag.
I bid her goodbye and got to my bike, speeding to my second day at work.
I followed through the procedures and made it to Boss' room with a beaming expression on.
Lucille looked up from where she's sat on the fluffy couch and I could see her eyes shine.
She's probably impressed.
"Good morning, ma'am. Here's your coffee." I put down the cup I've brought along.
She raised an eyebrow, accepting the cup and sipping from it.
She seemed satisfied. I mentally patted my back, I've done well.
For someone as moody and cold as she was, Lucille did have too much sugar in her coffee.
"Your first appointment of the day is visiting the site for the new brand you've invested in. The lipstick one."
She solemnly nodded, she sipped one last time and put down the cup then got off the couch.
I noticed she's an inch shorter today.
She walked around the couch and got to the pair of heels placed next to the luxurious carpet.
Oh.
She put them on and almost towered over me.
I liked being the tall one for once.
"I'm going to buy some stuff. I need you to withdraw money from my account for it."
"Sure, ma'am."
"I'll send you the file with my account number and important passwords. Only you'll have access to it. Bank will have the kmowledge of the withdrawal amount beforehand.
Mind it, if they find anything suspicious, they'll let me know immediately."
"If I was to steal, I wouldn't have studied so hard to get a job at the most renowned company." I retorted with as much modesty as possible.
She just shrugged and soon after, we left the office building.
Thankfully, she let me go with her in her car this time. Which was an awesome car I must say. Damn the softness of the seat, and the warmth.
We arrived at a huge shopping complex, and I followed her to a men's store.
One hand in her slacks pocket, and using the free one to roam through the hoodies, she looked gorgeous.
I stayed a bit away from her to give her space and silently admired how she seemed to know exactly what she wanted.
"I brought you here to help me choose. Not stand like a statue." She snapped.
"Then should've said it." I mumbled under my breath while walking to her.
I looked over the hanger of the hoodies and they were all so comfy and mushy.
I wish I had one like this. The ones at my home were worn out and old.
"The blue and grey ones look fine to me." I commented professionally.
She clicked her tongue and nodded, raising her hand to get someone. She pointed to the hoodies I chose and the worker got them for her.
Next we moved onto the watch section and my jaw almost dropped at the price tags.
But they're so damn beautiful.
I wonder for whom was she buying these.
I helped her selecting a few and she got 3 of them. We headed to the counter and I paid since I'm managing her accounts now as well.
My heart almost had an attack at the total amount but Lucille didn't seem to care.
How did it feel to spend this much and not have a single dent in your account?
That sounded like a very stressful dream.
Mom always said 'too much money, too much to stress about'.
"When's the site visit?" She asked when we're back in the car.
"Two hours from now."
Lucille nodded and suddenly the car screeched, the driver hitting sudden break which resulted in me falling on top of Lucille.
Freaking embarrassing.
"I'm so sorry!" I quickly rushed out and looked up only to see our faces were inches apart.
Her greyish eyes looked so mesmerizing from up close, and I almost got lost in them, holding my breath and feeling the warm breath through her parted lips touch my face before she pushed me back harshly.
"Hey!" I composed myself and so did she. "It's not like I'm dying to lay in your arms! Don't be so God damned aggressive all the time."
She seemed rather awkward as she didn't spare me a glance afterwards, and turned her embarrassment into anger towards the driver.
"If you break like this the next time, you'll be fired."
"Sorry, Boss. The cat appeared out of nowhere."
Staring out of the window, Lucille ignored my existence for the rest of the ride.
But I noticed we're not going back to the office as we've come far away from the busy life, and there's more highway around here.
"Where are we going?"
She put her elbow on the door bar and rested her chin on her palm. The fallen strands out of her pony tail brushed against her soft looking skin, as her mysterious eyes stayed glued at the scenary unfolding behind the glass.
I didn't realize I've been staring till the car came to a halt and I barely managed myself from hitting my head against the front seat.
What the hell?!
Why was I getting slo-mo-ed staring at her? My Boss!
I needed to pull my s**t together. Really.
"I'm meeting my brother here. Wait in the car or you can come, your wish."
I started to follow her without any word. It's just been a day but I already felt compelled to follow her everywhere.
Oh. We're at a restaurant. A very fancy one.
Lucille made her way to the reception and asked for a reservation under the name, Frank Katz.
Frank's such lousy name. Her brother should have as elegant of a name as hers.
A girl took us to a table and I spotted a young man standing up after seeing us.
"Sister!" He walked forward with open arms but Lucille dodged at the right moment and he ended up hugging me.
Hell.
I awkwardly returned the hug and patted his back. Lucille grabbed the back of Frank's shirt and pulled him off of me.
"New secretary?" He asked, pointing at me, completely ignoring the fact that his sister just avoided being hugged by him.
Guess he's also used to it.
"Here." Lucille said and suddenly I spotted her chauffeur, David, coming to us with the stuff we just bought.
Oh so she bought them for her brother. That's good.
I mean I don't care if it's good or bad. Or for whomever she bought gifts.
It's none of my business.
Frank took the shopping bags from David and grinned devilishly.
"Keep them and don't bother showing your face around my companies." She coldly gritted out.
Wait-
"Come on, sis! I'm obviously gonna visit you at our companies."
"Mine!" She yelled suddenly but lowered her voice instantly when she realized people were looking our way.
"They are mine. I've built them from the disaster father left. I don't remember seeing you then. So don't you f*****g dare call them your own. Ever."
She seethed the last line in a low dangerous tone, even I shivered from the affect of it when it wasn't even directed towards me.
But Frank's eyes didn't look affected at all. It's quite the contrary actually. He looked challenged.
I felt scared being in here.
"Let's go, Daryian."
She hastily left the place and I followed her, not even realizing she has used my first name, for the first time.
