CHAPTER TWO

The club was already in full swing when Ruby and Naomi arrived. They walked up to the bar for drinks.

“Hello handsome can we get two shots of tequila? Naomi said flashing the sweetest smile she could come up with

“No, Naomi I want something mild like a cocktail” Ruby said almost in a whisper

“Ruby you need to loosen up and tequila does a perfect job.”

“It’s too strong, you know I’m a light drinker”

“Come on Ruby don’t be a party popper” Naomi said trying to convince her

“Alright just one shot” Ruby said resignedly

“Bar man please get us two shots of tequila” Naomi shouted so the bar man could hear her.

When the drinks arrived, Naomi quickly gulped hers and hit the dance floor, she tried pulling Ruby to dance with her but she turned her down. Naomi was a social butterfly, she was very popular and can easily blend into the crowd. She loves to party hard which was a direct opposite of her friend. Ruby never understood the idea behind clubbing, she hated crowded and loud places, she finds it difficult to keep up with Naomi.

One shot of tequila turned to two and then she lost count. She was gulping the drink as if the solution to her problems lies at the bottom of the shot glass. Her phone lit up and it was a text from Naomi;

“Hey girl, I hope you are okay, I just met this hottie and we are about to leave the club for more fun and I hope you hook up with a nice guy tonight” Ruby wasn’t surprised at all because that was the kind of person Naomi was, she was like a moving train and anywhere fun is, Naomi will always be there. Ruby smiled, shaking her head, she began to put her phone away and ordered for more drinks then her notification light came on again, it was another text from Naomi

“Remember, to get that bastard out of your system, you need to get another bastard in...What ever happens tonight at the club remains at the club”. Ruby stared at her phone for a while, she couldn’t imagine getting laid tonight. She smiled and gulped her drink at once

Ruby’s beautiful figure caught the attention of a certain young man nesting by the corner. She seemed bored and alone and he was here to relief some s****l tension so he decided to approach her. The owner of the voice was so good looking he could pass as the god of beauty. “It’s fine you can stare as much as you want I tend to get that reaction from people a lot” Mr handsome said still smiling, he signalled the bar man

“A shot of whiskey on the rock” He requested. Ruby was too embarrassed to respond so she just stared at her drink.

“So are you here to have fun or drink yourself to stupor” The handsome stranger asked

Ruby couldn’t tell what fun looks like even if it hit her on the face but she was enjoying the attention from Mr handsome she didn’t want him to see her as a loser, Naomi’s text kept flashing in her head so she smiled, turned to face him and played along.

“I’m here for the fun but the night isn’t going as planned” Ruby lied while flashing the most seductive smile she could.

“What kind of fun were you expecting?”

“You know what kind” Ruby said, seductively eyeing the handsome stranger. If she was to get laid tonight, then he was the perfect candidate. She couldn’t believe she was doing this she has never been the type to make a move on any guy.

Mr handsome stared at her for a while as if trying to see through her mirage, she couldn’t help but break under his scrutinising gaze.

“Follow me” He commanded

“Where are we going to” Ruby asked confusedly. Even if she wanted to get laid badly, she didn’t know this guy he could be a serial killer.

“Thank you Mr handsome” Ruby said before tasting the drink. It was a creamy sweet liquor, better than all the drinks she has ever had.
