25: PROPOSAL & SUDDEN ALARM

1994 Words
“I have to let you heal at your own pace since I love you more than just a mate. I declined to marry you because of them and most of all, I don’t want to marry you because of our mate bond. I want this relationship to be more and to work for both of us. I don’t want it to be forced due to the mate bond that we had. Love, Lemar, love is I needed from this - us.” Jennie continued as she made it clear to Lemar what her rejection for their marriage truly meant for her. Lemar’s confusion started to clear out what Jennie Sage wanted for their relationship. He knew to his heart that she was already special to him. Jennie Sage was the only person who dared to see and listen to what lies inside his broken heart. She was the one who tried to understand, touch, and patiently waited for him to heal. He knew that she was the person that he wouldn’t let go. The only light in his life after what he went through. “I understand now. Thank you for making it clear to me.” Lemar finally understood her reason. “Sorry, if I made you doubt it. Dad has been nagging me about my marriage even though I’ve telling him over and over again my reason. You just happen to hear on how I firmly stood on what I’ve decided for myself.” She apologized as she showed him her loving smile. “And I just want us to get to know each other even more, beyond our mate bond.” Lemar smiled and stared deeply into her eyes. Without them realizing it, the gap between them was getting closer, and were about to seal their conversation with a kiss when Jennie had to sneeze. “Argh, why your sent had to ruin the moment there?” she groaned in annoyance as she pitched the bridge of her nose. Lemar chuckled but didn’t care and just pulled Jennie’s nape as he let their lips capture one another for a simple but sweet kiss. “I love you, my lovely witch mate.” “I love you too but…” Jennie might be blushing like a tomato already but she had something in her mind. “But what?” he wondered what she was thinking until Jennie grabbed his left hand and put an ancestral ring on his ring finger. “Babe, what is this?” “That ring belongs to my real parents but since they were gone, Mom, the Luna, kept it safe and told me to give it to my mate that I’m going to be with for the rest of my life.” She smiled while caressing the ring that was perfectly fit on Lemar’s ring finger. “Are you…” he was about to ask something but Jennie suddenly caressed his lips. It was making Lemar nervous all of a sudden. “Lemar Clarkson, my brave star elite hunter, and my alpha wolf, will you wait for the right time to settle down for a lifetime and be my fiance for now?” she took a lot of courage to propose first to her mate while looking deeply into Lemar’s entire being, his soul. “Sage, this is…” Lemar was caught off guard and didn’t know what to say or even how to react to it. “Dammit, I’m seriously proposing to you and you’re being like that? So, great.” She rolled her eyes and sighed annoyingly. But deep inside she was nervous and embarrassed about proposing before he could even dare to. “Hey, I’m not opposing your proposal.” He smirked and admitted that he was surprised since it was to be him proposing and not the other way around. “I’m just surprised and all…” “So, are you going to be my fiance and soon to be my husband or not?” Jennie repeated in her daring tone but Lemar felt the sincerity and love that Jennie was holding delicately in her. “Straight forward and daring…” Lemar teasingly chuckled. “Lemar.” She groaned since she was agitated and her heart felt like it was going to explode if she didn’t get any answer from him. “Of course, yes. I will be your fiance and soon to be your husband, lovely wife.” Lemar chuckled and replied to her proposal. They even sealed it with a kiss on their lips but Jennie had to ruin it. “Shut up, I’m not your wife yet…” She tried her best to hide her heated cheeks but could not until her nose started to itch again, and flipped her fiance upside down on the floor. “Argh! Damn your scent.” “f**k! Why do you have to flip me?” Lemar groaned. “Reflexes.” She excused. “Right, blame it on the reflex.” He sarcastically responded as he sat on the floor. “I am not sure about that anymore.” But when Lemar got the full sight of his mate-fiancee, he couldn’t help but stare at the simple beauty that Jennie Sage was emitting. To him, she looked like a very wonderful piece of art from heaven’s creation since she could not be compared to anyone and Lemar was grateful that he finally had her. “What?” Jennie noticed his stare while she was putting her clothes on. Lemar blushed and quickly turned around since he didn’t realize that Jennie was fully naked in front of him. “N-nothing.” “Are you sure? Your ears were red, didn’t you know?” she pointed out and Lemar quickly covered his ears since he knew that whenever his ears were red, he was very shy and embarrassed. “Don’t mind me just do what you must do.” Lemar looked away and decided to remove his top clothing since he already planned on taking a refreshing bath. “You know you should said that to a witch like me.” Jennie’s eyes roamed around Lemar’s scarred body and something in her started to heat up as she could not divert her eyes elsewhere. “There’s no one like you, Sage.” He sighed and Jennie found it sweet. “You don’t like me to be compared to anyone, huh?” she somehow found herself sounding like teasing Lemar and he shivered. “I don’t. Everyone is different from each other. They had their own uniqueness beneath their flaws and only a few dared to see them.” He pretended that her voice was not affecting him at all. “Are one of them who dared to see what lies beneath the hideous monster of a creature?” Jennie almost sounded like whispering as she came closer to where Lemar standing still. “No, but if it's you, I would.” He responded with a sigh. “Why me?” she wondered. “Jennie Sage, stop asking when you do know what it feels…” Lemar turned and faced his mate with slight annoyance but when their eyes met something ignited between them. “I don’t know what you feel, Lemar, I am not you.” She calmly said as their eyes captured each other. “Well pointed. Anyway, what I’m saying is that I love you. I mean, I won’t accept your proposal if I’m not feeling anything for you.” He cleared to her mate before sitting up again on the side of the bed. “I know.” Jennie stepped even closer as their eyes were still locked onto each other. “Then why you asked?” he wondered. “I just want to hear it from your lips.” She leaned closer making Lemar gulped. “S-sage…w-what are you doing?!” he even stuttered as he began to feel the heat coming out from his body. “Don’t be nervous, it's just us. Alone in my bedroom which is technically ours now.” She slightly chuckled as she pointed out the sudden call of the bedroom as theirs. “Sa-ge…” He felt the rush of the heat all over his body and wanted to touch her. But he could not do it since he respected her. “Pff!” but Jennie suddenly reacted and started laughing at his red face. “Seriously, you looked like a tomato. HAHAHAHA!!!” “Not funny.” Lemar rolled his eyes because he was just being teased. “But it does.” Jennie was still giggling. “ITS NOT!” Lemar growled and got up from the bed before sternly staring at Jennie’s orbs again. “What if I do something to you that you might regret and reject me later?” “What do you mean?” she knew what he meant but she chose to play it cool and wondered. “I badly want to do you.” Lemar stepped closer as he made sure there was no room for escape. “You mean…that thing?” but Jennie was not backing down and stared back at him. “Yes, I want to make love to you and fully mark you, do you understand? So please, don’t tease me.” He calmly admitted what he truly desired around Jennie before heading to the bathroom to cool himself down. “I might not be able to control it next time that you do it again.” Jennie watched retreating back behind the closed door of the bathroom before sighing. “Gosh, does he think I am not feeling hot from doing such a daring thing?” She rolled her eyes before she groaned and wondered what gesture she just made there. “Argh! Why did I even make a teasing move like that? What’s gotten into me?” Jennie decided to do some paperwork that her father needed some help with. She was too engrossed in it until something made her jolt. She knew that she had to stop whatever she was doing or it would be a mess. She went to the balcony window to clearly feel what was happening around the pack’s border. “Some new peasants trying to get inside the pack,” Jennie smirked to herself and began linking her siblings. “Mikyle and Welhima, we’ve got company and they were not all simple rogues, there are some fallen among them, so be careful.” ‘We’re on it.’ “This is going to be another long night.” She muttered to herself before sighing and decided to grab something to drink but something made her stop. “What the f**k…” As Jennie was being alarmed in the bedroom, Lemar was trying to cool himself down with a cold shower but something suddenly made him uneasy. He was about to ignore it but turned out something he could not ignore. It was seriously painful causing him to groan until Jennie’s face flashed to his mind. “f**k, SAGE!” Lemar quickly got out of the shower and without drying, he went out of the bathroom not even caring that his glory was fully displayed. “Cover yourself.” Jennie weakly told him. “Don’t stare.” He rolled his eyes and pulled her into his arms. “I have my eyes, idiot.” She sighed as she rolled her eyes. “Then don’t look.” He countered and carried her in his arms before letting her lay down on the bed. “Cover it with your smoke or do your half-shift.” She told him and Lemar’s eyes widened. “Ohh, why I didn’t think of it.” He realized and his body automatically began releasing his dark and bloody smoke to make him shift like a lycan. “Much better view.” She sighed in relief. “Why you didn’t like me fully naked?” he teasingly wondered.
