19: BE AROUND THE WITCH

1976 Words
“Clever as always, Faye.” he was proud before clearing things for them. “Yes, only the star elite knew about it and I think you know the reason why I work hard after my lover’s death.” “Ah, finally it made sense,” Stallion commented. “Alright, about the raid that was happening around this pack before was already a mess like the usual but from what we’ve heard from some captured rogues now, it was all the same.” Foxie cleared what changes they had found between the past rogues' raid to the recent one. “The same? In what way?” Welhima wondered about the difference between the previous rogue attack to the recent one. “They were forced,” Stallion answered. Upon hearing that, Lemar carefully thought as he analyzed between what he heard, and what recently happened as well as the sudden downfall of their guild. Everything moved oddly. “Do you think they were being used to be blamed and put fame on the others?” Lemar dropped what he thought about the pack’s situation. “Maybe but we don’t have enough evidence for it,” Faye answered. “We will gather information as much as we can since it is about our pack’s safety.” Welhima seriously told them. “That will be very helpful.” Foxie was grateful for what Welhima told them. “Then you should better heal yourself quickly. I’m going to send you out there to be my eyes and ears, so be prepared.” Lemar firmly told them and the healing hunters radiated in excitement as they gave their respectful salute. “Wow, they salute you already even if it was not yet official.” Welhima teased Lemar. “What do you mean?” Bunny wondered yet at the corner of her lips were already grinning. “You heard her right. The four of you will be assigned a team for Lemar and as soon as you get out from here, you’ll be undergoing training with him.” Jennie answered as she cleared that out to the four healing hunters. “That’s awesome.” they reacted in excitement. “Actually, before this happened, you’re already the assigned team that I’ve requested before to the Chief and…” he chuckled and guessed the reason why they saw each other in the same pack. “...let me guess the real reason you’re here is because of the chief’s telegram given to you, am I right?” “Yes, it's our last mission and served Lady Jennie Sage Groban and her husband,” Foxie answered while grinning. “It was placed according to our request,” Lemar muttered to himself but it was clear only for Jennie to hear and she was happy for her mate. “Do we need to keep our old code?” Bunny wondered. “It's up to you but I prefer not to use it anymore. For safety.” Lemar gave them his honest answer. “Should we do plastic surgery too?” Stallion asked something nonsense. “Stupid.” Foxie and Bunny reacted at the same time. “What? I’m just asking.” Stallion tried to defend himself but the ladies just ignored him. “The battle will.” Welhima cracked her fist. “Ohho, Lady Welhima is fired up.” Stallion gulped as he slightly chuckled. “Let them be, Welhima. They still need to be healed which I hope that they will do it fast.” Lemar stopped Welhima from teasing them as he stood up and smiled hopefully at them. “We will, Sir Clark - I mean, Lemar.” they all responded with respect and Lemar nodded at them. “Anyway, rest up for some more so you can join their training.” Jennie smiled at them and they were grateful and headed out of the private ward. Lemar was about to follow his mate when he recalled something. “Oh, before I forget, as soon as you’re discharged I’ll be calling you to your real name.” then started going after his mate after shouting at them. “So, be ready till it happens.” Lemar was like a dog following Jennie Sage around while doing her usual routine in the hospital. Everyone was curious about him since nobody could tolerate the intimidating aura that Jennie was emitting aside from Lemar. He was a happy dog while tailing his mate since he was discovering a side that he had no idea that she could have. “She’s caring like nature would do,” Lemar muttered to himself which he forgot that Jennie could hear very clearly. ‘Why tail me when you can wait at my office here?’ Jennie wondered through their mind-link as mates and Lemar was not surprised on hearing her lovely voice through his mind. “Well, I love watching this side of you since you always irritated around me whenever we’re alone,” Lemar responded on the same link while smirking making Jennie shiver before glaring at him. “What?” Jennie shook her head and walked to her office. “Let’s go to my room, I have to change.” “Then why not walk there for a change?” he wondered while he went closer to her side. “Not gonna happen.” She sighed and entwined her hands with Lemar’s. “Why?” he curiously asked. “I don’t want to bump into my father.” She simply answered and their surrounding started to glow. “Ohh…” Lemar only managed to say when they vanished from Jennie’s office at the hospital. Appearing at Jennie’s bedroom at the mansion, Lemar was still not that used to Jennie's teleportation magic but he was not that dizzy to the point of vomiting. He just needed some time to rest but when he recalled where they were, he became skeptical. “I’m inside my mate’s bedroom…” Lemar muttered to himself as he was not sure what to do inside a lady’s bedroom, especially when Jennie’s parents were around and could sense them. Lemar sighed and almost did not move from his spot which caught Jennie’s attention. Jennie Sage found Lemar’s stiffness was funny but cute but of course, she was not going to show that to him. “What are you doing there?” Jennie slightly chuckled before she went to her messy desk. “Sit on the couch. It's free.” “Oh, okay.” Lemar shyly went to the couch that was surrounded by books. He looked at them and tried to read some books. Jennie smiled and left him to read her books. But while Jennie was busy around her desk, she suddenly jolted up and took a deep breath to sense what she felt odd until her eyes landed on Lemar. She smiled but her foul scent made her sneeze a little before groaning. “Take it off.” Jennie flatly told him due to the dark smoke that Lemar didn’t realize was slipping out from his body. “Wha-what?!” Lemar was shocked and didn’t know what to do when he suddenly heard his mate’s commanding voice. “I said take it off since we’re alone here.” She firmly said causing Lemar’s heartbeat to race even more. “A-are y-you insane?” he started to stuttered. “Insane? What are you talking-” Jennie was confused about what made him say that. It confused her and since they were having eye-to-eye contact, that’s when it hit Jennie’s mind. She just realized how she sounded when she told that to her mate. Heat was creeping out from her cheeks but she sighed and rolled her eyes to hide her embarrassment. “Who’s being a p*****t now?” she sighed and Lemar growled lowly. “You are.” He defended while pouting like a kid. “You’re the one who said to take off my clothes.” “I know what I said and I will still gonna say that.” Jennie bluntly told her mate and it slightly confused Lemar until she continued what she meant. “Take it off since you’re undergarments were chanted already and you might shift any moment now.” “Oh, that…” Lemar embarrassedly smiled and started removing his clothing, leaving only his boxer. “Pervert.” She rolled her eyes while trying to hide her blush. “Only for you.” He counted and neatly folded the clothes before wondering. “But why do you think that I’m gonna shift?” Before Jennie could answer her mate, she started sneezing twice in a row again making her groan. “Argh! f**k your scent. Argh!” “Sorry.” He sincerely apologized. “Argh…its okay…I think I know what it meant…” Jennie shook her head since she knew that it had something to do with them being mates. “And to answer your question, your wolf side was emitting its dark smoke and might shift you into your wolf any moment from now.” “Hm, I don’t feel strange-” Lemar was talking to his mate when he suddenly shifted into his wolf form. “Fuck.” “I told you.” She chuckled and petted Lemar’s smooth black fur. “So, if I started to steam out, it meant that I’m going to shift?” he wondered while feeling the touch of his mate which made him purr. “From what happened, seems like it.” She smiled and walked toward the couch where Lemar sat earlier before wondering what triggered it. “What are you reading for you to steam out?” “I’m just reading your book. It's a good book and that’s when you told me to take my clothes off,” he responded as he tilted to the side of his wolfy head. “Hm, so you’re reading this book…” she hummed as she picked the white book that didn’t have any title printed on it. It was just a plain white book. “Why? What’s wrong with that book? Is it a magical book?” he asked non-stop even though he was still in his wolf form. “Silly, it was an ordinary book that I had written.” Jennie checked what he read and she smiled softly. “ I’m glad you like it.” “You write stories?” he almost sounded shocked hearing them. “Whenever I felt like it. It was just a hobby in my free time.” She replied and was about to put the book back on its rightful shelf when Lemar nudged her side gently. “What?” “I wanna read it,” Lemar said. “You already did.” She teased. “Oh c’mon, babe, let me read.” He whined. “Can you read it while you’re in your wolf form?” she wondered with an arch left eyebrow. “Oh…later then.” He chuckled as he realized that he was still in his wolf form since he could casually speak with Jennie like his in human form. “Okay, I’ll just put it back here.” She chuckled put the book back on its rightful shelf and requested for Lemar to be still. “And be quiet, I’ll do my usual work around the mansion.” “What would it be?” he wondered. “Paperworks, I’m still a noble and from time to time I’m helping my father to make plans along with my siblings.” She answered as she sat on her chair and opened her laptop to start working. “Okay, I’ll rest since I’m not sure for how long I will be in this form…” Lemar yawned his big wolf mouth. “Seems like my wolf wanted to be around you huh.”
