They had maybe an hour.
Rhen's message was clear. The network was moving. By morning Ironveil would have company it did not want.
One hour.
Maybe less.
Mara stood in the middle of her room and looked at both of them.
At Caius checking his phone with his jaw tight.
At Zane pulling on his jacket with his eyes already calculating.
Both of them already in motion.
Already preparing.
Already putting everything else away to deal with what was coming.
She said:
"Stop."
Both of them stopped.
They looked at her.
"One hour," she said quietly. "Whatever is coming it is not here yet." She held both their gazes. "I need one hour that has nothing to do with networks or phases or four hundred years of anything."
