Chapter Forty three— They Are Already Moving
Rhen was awake.
That was the first thing.
Mara had expected to find him asleep. To have to knock. To have to explain.
He was already at the table in the main building with Edmund and the white haired Alpha and three Outer Council guards when the three of them walked through the door at two thirty in the morning.
He looked up.
"You got the call," he said.
"Yes," Mara said. "How long have you known."
"Twenty minutes," he said. "I was about to come to you."
She sat down.
Caius and Zane sat beside her.
She looked at the table.
At the maps spread across it.
At the red marks.
Many red marks.
More than she expected.
"How many," she said.
Rhen looked at the white haired Alpha.
The woman looked at Mara directly.
