✤ Adrian ✤ The first thing I felt was pain. Not sharp pain, more like a heavy, throbbing ache behind my eyes that pulsed with every heartbeat. My mouth was dry, my stomach unsettled, and my head, well, it felt like someone had stuffed cotton into it and then hit me with a frying pan for good measure. I blinked up at the ceiling, confused for half a second before last night caught up to me. Julian. The bar. Too many drinks. Far too many. I groaned and pressed my palms against my eyes. “i***t,” I muttered under my breath. I hadn’t meant to drink that much. I had just needed something to quiet the noise in my head and the disappointment I felt when Sera turned down my invitation because the restless feeling that ate at me was annoying. I hadn’t wanted to go home alone and think about her.
