Feel The Fire

2009 Words
Brelles’ POV The drive through town was relaxed. I was in the front seat with my brother behind the wheel and I enjoyed the warm air with the windows down. MJ and Clover were in the back belting out the song on the radio and Winston just laughed at them. As we pulled up to the old abandoned elementary school in town, cars were all looking for parking. The seniors hold a big bonfire here at the start of every school year. It kicks off there last year of high school. I can hear music over the radio as we try to park. Winston gets tired of fighting for parking, so he pulls out and drives around the back of the old school. Outside the fence line. He pulls in behind Jace’s Dodge Hellcat and Chandler's first generation Ford Bronco. Winston turns the car off, and we all file out of the car. Winston helps Clover over the fence, and she lets out this cute little giggle as he touches her. They are so cute together they just need to get together all ready. Mercy straddles it like a bike and flips her leg over. Grab the top of the fence and hurdle both legs over the fence. Clover links her arm with mine, and we walk up the back of the field. There were blankets and chairs set up around the field. In the center of the field sat a massive bonfire. In about ten minutes they would light the fire, and we would party well into the night. Winston gave the two-finger salute and made his way to his friends. MJ saw the keg and we followed behind. She snagged the red solo cups and filled them to the brim. Clover took her cup and sipped at it as she looked through the crowd. I looked at Mercy and we threw it back. Chugging the whole cup like we hadn’t had anything to drink in three days. I handed it back to Mercy to fill it up again. Clover elbowed me and I noticed Mikey coming over to us. He was going to be a junior like us in two weeks. He is thin for a wolf, as he still needs to bulk up more. He makes me want to feed him a pizza. MJ hands me my drink and I step back from the keg. Poor MJ is still getting herself another drink and Mikey starts up a conversation. “Now I know why you're named Mercy, because lord have Mercy you are hot…” Mikey wiggles his eyebrows at her. Clover snorts her drink and chokes on a laugh. “Oh yeah Mikey, like I haven’t heard that one before.” MJ downs her drink again. She then snags a bottle of Jack off a passing senior. He turned to bite her head off, and she growled at him. He put his hands up and walked away. She pulled me and clover onto the makeshift dance floor around the fire. Mercy, feeling herself tonight, goes into full stripper mode. She is rolling her hips and shaking her ass to the beat of the music. Clover can keep up, but doesn’t look even half as good as Mercy. She puts the bottle of jack to her lips and pops her hip, bouncing her ass. Mercy passes me the bottle, and she grabs my hips, pushing and pulling. Showing me the feeling of rolling my hips. She throws her head back laughing as she watches the train wreck that is my dancing. I throw back the jack, and it burns as it goes down. I passed the bottle back to Mercy as a girl came over to join our group. Taylor, from my soccer team. I guess the girl dating my mate thinks it is cool to hang with us. She looks at me and jerks her head toward the school’s courtyard. It’s still in sight of the fire just where things are a little quieter. I nodded and took my beer to follow her. She leans against the wall waiting for a few people to give us space. “Look, this talk is going to be weird. I know it, you know it. Chandler told me you guys were pretty serious. I figured as your teammate I owed you a talk. Chandler asked me out a few weeks ago. We are keeping it casual. I don’t want me dating your ex to affect us on the field. You are a great player and deserve to be there. I also want you to respect that your ex has a right to date whoever he wants, and you don’t need to stick your nose into our relationship.” She says drinking whatever is in her cup. I just keep nodding my head like an i***t. I down the rest of my beer and try to collect my thoughts. The hair on the back of my neck stands on end and I know his eyes are on me. I’ve been feeling them more and more in the past few months. I look around and snag a bottle of vodka off the nearby table and pour it in my cup before I speak. “Taylor, listen, I respect that you came and talked to me. You want to date my ex, fine. I’m just trying to survive. You should also know at some point he will come back to me. You are not his mate or his end game. So, as long as you know that we are cool. I’m not going to get in your way or stick my nose in anything because he’ll come back.” I took a swig of vodka in my cup. “Hey babe.” Chandler walks over and kisses Taylor. “Hey Breez… Brelle.” He looks away from me. “Hey babe. I was just having a talk with Bree. She claims she will stay out of our way because sooner or later you will go back to her. Is this true? You told me you were looking for a mate.” Taylor says, and my body goes hot like I’m standing in the middle of the fire. I laughed out loud. Chandler looks like someone stuck him in the ass with a hot fire poker. “Bree. We talked about this, until we knew for sure. We are allowed to have a life beside each other…” Chandler growled at me. The liquor now at this point is giving me a nice buzz. I waved my drunk hand in his face and gave him the finger. “Bree! Don’t.” he snaps. “I DON’T CARE! You act like it isn’t true, but yet you had your lips on my neck after our game.” I pointed at Taylor, and she coughed on her drink. “I’m sorry what?” Taylor looked at Chandler. He ran his hands through his hair like he wanted to pull it out at the roots. “Bree, I can’t do this with you.” he rolls his eyes. “Yeah, well, that makes the two of us stay out of my life. When your mate bond snaps in place, you better start begging because maybe I’ll have mom cut the bond.” I yelled in his face. “Taylor, no hard feelings OK, I’ll see you on the field. My love life will never affect the game, I can promise you that.” I turned to walk away, but he grabbed my arm. Only this time my stomach doesn’t roll like it did this afternoon. I shook his hand off and grabbed the vodka off the table and walked back to my sister and Clover. MJ has her cup in the air. She’s twerking like she does this for a living. Clover is drunk, acting like she is making it rain on her. I walked over and started cheering her on. She sees my bottle and makes a little cheer. She stops twerking long enough to grab my bottle. I dance awkwardly with them till I feel his eyes on me again. Then I felt a body against mine. I looked over my shoulder and Chris was grinding with me. Chris is on the hockey team with Chandler. He is built relatively the same way. Chris has blonde hair and brown eyes. His eyes are warm, and it may just be because I’m drunk, but they feel inviting. He hands me a shot glass and I look confused. “Tequila. Do you need a chaser?” He looks cocky. I keep swaying with the music with his hands on my hips. I hold my breath, close my eyes and swallow the shot. I felt the burn down my throat and my body got all hot again. I opened my eyes and expected to see Chandler somewhere nearby. Only. I locked eyes with a deep chocolate brown pair that did not belong to Chandler. Jace has a red head shaking her ass on him as he looks over at us. I laugh because the red head dances just as badly as I do, and then you have MJ in front of me who looks like a professional. Jace must be pissed that he let that go. I go to take another drink from my cup, and it’s dry at that point. I tap MJ and point to the keg, and then I tug Chris with me. Guys on the hockey team are standing around the keg yelling chug. Mercy looks at the group with a wicked grin. When Chris moved out of my way, I saw Kyle, another hockey player, upside down. Some senior was holding his legs as he drank from the keg. “It’s a keg stand. Want to give it a go, Bree?” Chris asked. I don’t really have upper arm strength and drinking upside down just doesn’t seem like a smart idea. I know I’m drunk, but I’m not that drunk. “Oh, I’m so in…” MJ says. Kyle dropped from the keg. He wipes his mouth and looks at my sister. His eyes roam her body, and he licks his lips. “Well, step on up, little miss alpha. I’ll even hold your legs.” Kyle rubs his hands together as the crowd cheers. Mercy pushes him out of her way. “As if this alpha needs your help.” She grabs the side of the keg and does a perfect handstand, her body perfectly straight over the keg. Kyle gets on his knees and pops the keg hose in her mouth. He is at a perfect tit level. He sticks his head in between her boobs and motorboats her while she chugs the beer. All the guys cheered. I know she is drunk and if she was sober that would be too much for her. I kicked Kyle out of the way and grabbed her legs, throwing them over my shoulder. Her head is hanging down my back and she’s smacking my ass wanting me to let her go. I handed MJ off to Chris, and he set her on her feet. “Oh, come on Bree, we were just having some fun. Why are you being a buzz kill? Lighten up. No wonder Chandler never slept with you.” Kyle jokes and sprays me down with the beer hose. Cheers go up around the keg. I had a white tank on, so now with the beer, my shirt was completely see-through. I could feel my n*****s getting hard from the cold beer sitting on my skin. Kyle sticks his tongue out like a dog and shakes his head at my boobs, making me sick to my stomach as I try to hide my chest. Next thing you know, a body comes flying into the crowd and, with a sickening crack, Kyle is laid out on the ground. I went to pull Chandler off of his teammate, only for two brown eyes to meet mine. They weren't Chandlers.
