Lizzy
Walking into my last class of the day I couldn’t wait for it to be over, since this morning I had a feeling of dread in the pit of my stomach knowing that something always happens when I get this feeling made my anxiety high. I felt eyes on me all day I scanned the room and no one seemed as though they were looking. I sat at my desk and turned to the page we were at. Usually I enjoyed this class as literature was my thing getting lost in words in to dream lands. I’d love to be a writer and hoped my extra education at St Andrews University would take me there.
“Lizzy” I heard my name being called, panic struck remembering the pit in my stomach. I looked round to see who called my name. A woman in a navy dress suit with hot pink heels stood in the door way she was like a goddess her chestnut hair curled and set of her left side. I smiled out of nerves and she gestured me to come with her. “Lizzy won’t be coming back to class could you email any work needed done to her personal email to catch up with later Richard” my lecturer nodded and started the class. I quickly walked over to the door way with this woman. For the life of me I couldn’t remember her name. “Follow me to my office please I have something I wish to discuss with you.” She said slightly smiling this didn’t put me at ease at all, I felt the trembling beginning. We got to her office and then I seen her name Charlotte Stirling head of literature department how the hell did I not remember her oh crap I’m in for it if I’m at the heads office I must be failing oh god oh god…
“Please take a seat, don’t worry this is all good.” Charlotte was now fully smiling at me. As I walked into the office this amazing smell of cinnamon hit me it took my mind from the situation until Charlotte cleared her throat.
“Oh sorry, is that smell baking or have you had a candle on? It smells heavenly.” I asked with slight nerves, her face dropped and then she looked at me quizzically as if I was some strange creature that had stepped into the room. “Oh I had my brother in here it must have been his cologne, anyway let’s get to it then. You’re here due to your financial essay reports from your HR course you are doing.” She stated and started pulling out paperwork but now I’m utterly confused as I had wanted to drop that course but my parents wanted me to do it as back up and said they wouldn’t pay fees for my uni if I hadn’t. “The department have many companies who are looking for apprentices to join their companies and someone had passed on your reports and grades to one. They’ve asked for an interview with yourself which is for Monday would this interest you?” She said sitting the companies information in front of me. I quickly scanned it Ferguson & son’s architecture was the company, shock must have hit my face knowing how prestigious this company was. “This would be an amazing opportunity for you Lizzy and they pay well even being an apprentice it’s really good, I think you would be fully suited to this roll and take it in your stride.” “I..I don’t know what to say” I stammered she sat back in her chair “mmm I think you should think about..” “It’s fine I’ll take it I can focus on this as a career and make writing a hobby on the side I suppose.” I said I don’t know why but something made me want to go I was drawn to it even though it wasn’t what I wanted to do. “Oh that’s great do you have appropriate clothing for the interview? You’ll need to look very well kept for this job.” She seemed more excited about this than she should be. “ I think I have something at my dorm.” “Great I’ll let them know you’ll be attending then, do you have any questions?” She smiled “Why me though?” She chuckled slightly at my question oh Jackie just thought you were very good at your work.” She stated looking as if more was to be told but I just passed it off. “You may go back to your dorm now and prepare for Monday Lizzy, nice chatting with you.” I nodded and smiled leaving the room. What the actual hell how has this came about why did I just agree to this. Just then I smelled that amazing cinnamon smell a man was stood at the doorway through to the dorms he looked like a god, he was wearing a suit that hugged his muscles his hair golden chestnut sitting perfectly, suddenly he turned and his gaze was upon me. He started to walk towards me with a smirk slightly set one his face. He came to my face “Watch it you don’t want to have a fall over your drool my dear.” His voice was deep and hit me to my core making me have butterflies he then continued down the hall. Dumbfounded I kicked myself internally for embarrassing myself. Who was that I need to know him…
