The Longfang warriors search the Broadclaw territory systematically ensuring that the left no trace or scent unchecked. They followed the rouges scent across the Broadclaw territory, it was leading them around in circles. Whoever this rogue was they where still in Broadclaw or part of Broadclaw. Cirus felt a burning rage build inside of him as he stormed towards the Broadclaw pack house. His eyes where black with rage, his mind was solely focused on tearing out the throat of all Broadclaw pack members who stood in the way…
“Ci, you need to calm down before we go in you’re gonna start a war man,” Aidan put his hand on Cirus’ shoulder pulling him out of his blind rage. Cirus knew Aidan was right he had to be careful how he approached this. His actions would effect all of his pack and he shouldn’t make allegations without concrete evidence. He balled his hands into fists so hard he drew blood, took a deep breath, and knocked at the door. They where greeted by Alpha Dean’s beta, Philip a scrawny man who wasn’t to be under estimated. The stories surrounding his battlefield skills where legendary, he was not someone Cirus would want to face in a fight. He was never very far away from Dean for a reason. Philip nodded at Cirus out of respect for his rank as Alpha, but didn’t say anything. He led Cirus and the Longfang warriors through the grand entrance of the house, Dean spared no expense to show he was Alpha of one of the largest packs in the country. It seemed tacky to Cirus who saw more value in actions than possessions. Philip led the Longfang pack into the an even grander room where Alpha Dean was sat on a sofa with his Luna, surrounded by warriors.
“Alpha Dean,” Cirus said “Thank you for your co-operation and hospitality in your territory.”
“Cirus,” Dean replied “The pleasure is all mine I do enjoy playing the host.”
Deans voice made the hairs on Cirus’ neck stand on end he couldn’t explain his dis-trust for Dean but his Father had always told him to listen to his instinct and they where screaming at him.
Sensing Cirus' hesitation Dean continued “Let's not talk business yet, I’m hungry and I believe my daughter Ivy will be joining us.”
Dean looked at his Luna in a pointed manner, she got up and left the room with some of the warriors following behind her.
“Boys,” announced Dean “Take yourselves upstairs and clean up for dinner, you have half an hour use any of the bathrooms on the West side of the house.”
The Longfang warriors walked up the staircase that Dean pointed out to them and started to wander towards the West side of the house. As Cirus was walking a curious scent hit him, It was an intoxicating and heady mix of lavender and wood. Without thinking Cirus started to head in the opposite direction to the pack. Aidan made a sound of protest but Cirus waved him off before he could say anything. Cirus crept along the corridor until he heard voices, he paused next to a room and listened.
“But why do I have to join Mother, the Alpha doesn’t actually want me there for any reason other than to show me off,” A sweet voice groaned.
“Ivy he is your father and more importantly, your Alpha if he wants you to join us for dinner you must." Cirus realised that the women talking where Alpha Dean's Luna and daughter.
“Why do I suddenly matter to him Mother, He only acknowledges me when there are visiting packs. It is all for appearances,” Ivy’s voice continued. “I’ve been a disappointment to him since the day I was born. I can’t be Alpha so I don’t matter.”
“Ivy that is not true…”
“Yes, mother it is. You can’t provide him with any male pups so he is stuck with me,” Ivy fired back to her mother.
“That is enough,” Her mothers voice grew firm with the authoritative tone of a Luna “You will come to dinner and you will be civil. You have twenty minutes to be down in the dinning room.” With that the Luna stormed out of the room leaving Cirus with only just enough time to dart back down the corridor to his pack.
“What was that all about,” Aidan questioned at once
“I don’t know I’m sorry, I was just following the most unbelievable smell I couldn’t help myself. I ended up outside Alpha Deans daughter’s bedroom,” Cirus replied.
“Oh no,” Aidan gasped and then started to laugh.
“What,” Growled Cirus
“Of all the people you could have been mated with you stupid wolf, you pick Alpha dean’s daughter,” Aidan replied still chuckling.
“No, you’re mistaken. It was nothing like that,” Cirus retorted.
“She’s coming to dinner, right. You’ll know by the end of the night. If you can’t take your eyes off her and she can’t take her eyes off you. You’re done friend.”
Ignoring Aidans remark Cirus stomped off to the bathroom and locked the door.
He walked over to the mirror reliving what had just happened in his head and look at himself. He immediately saw a stupid grin plastered all over his face which he shook off at once. This was not going to happen. He didn’t trust Alpha Dean and mating with his daughter would make thing more difficult that they already where. With new resolve Cirus pushed all thoughts of her intoxicating smell aside and hastily got ready for dinner.
