Tyler’s POV Ruby shifts first. It’s fast. Clean. Like her body remembers itself better than her mind does. Her wolf lands and everything in me goes still for half a second, like my instincts just forgot they were in a hurry. Deep red-brown, rich like wet earth after rain, darker at the ears, a shadow at the tips. She doesn’t look fragile or broken. She looks built. Sleek power, compact and fierce, the kind of wolf that doesn’t waste motion. Her eyes cut through the line once, measuring, then she’s moving, not bolting but taking position like she’s done this her whole life. I’ve smelled her wolf in traces. In the bond. In the aftermath. In the way she snaps awake when danger shifts in the air. But seeing her like this, in full, in motion, does something to me I don’t have room for.
