DESPITE ALL THE EVIDENCE PUT AGAINST YOU, I ONLY BELIEVE WHAT I SEE IN YOUR EYES.
*AMAYA'S P.O.V*
I sit on my bed after taking a shower. It was still raining terribly, some part of the street got flooded and I had to step into the water despite having a bruise. I take out a piece of cotton wool and some methylated spirit. I pour the alcohol on the cotton wool and I clean my bruise. I look out the window as I wince in pain. When I was done, I applied some ointment and wrapped a band-aid around it.
*I saw a piece of heaven waiting-*
"Hello," I say after picking up the call, it's Andria. I put it on speaker then I stand holding the first aid kit.
"I'm on your front porch. Your fat neighbor-"
"Amy?" I chuckle as I enter the bathroom.
"Whatever... She said," I drop the kit and I head back to my room just in time to hear her mimic Amy." I ain't gonna open no door for you because I'm watching Ghostbusters, so quit knocking and call your friend to get her ass down and open the bloody door."
I chuckle as I grab my phone and leave my apartment.
"You don't have to be mad Andria, you also don't like getting interrupted when you are watching Criminal Minds," I say grinning.
She loves the show more than sundaes on a hot summer day.
"Yeah, who does anyway?"
"Exactly my point," I say with wide eyes and she groans.
"You always like taking sides with people who don't care about you." She says as I walk down the stairs.
"I'm not taking sides and I love Andria, that's why I always tell you these things," I say and she groans dramatically.
"I love you too but you are worse than my mother." She says and I unlock the front door and then open it.
"Glad to be." I smile and she chuckles. I end the call and she gets in. She looks in Amy's apartment where she is sprawled on the floor like a rug and watching Ghostbusters from what looks like the first television made.
Andria stuck her middle finger towards Amy and I laughed in amusement and surprise. I didn't enjoy saying curse words, and it wasn't related to me being religious but I just didn't like it. Andria on the other hand wasn't religious but loved using curse words when she was mad which was funny sometimes.
"How did you walk home? It's almost flooded out there. You could have called me." I sit on my sofa and Ariana sits on the couch.
"I didn't walk home. Luis's driver dropped me off." I say and her eyes widen.
"You were in their freaking car?" She nearly drools and I roll my eyes remembering passing by Maria's shop.
"You could say," I replied nonplussed. She squirms for some minutes before speaking.
"So, how was Alejandro like? " She asks excitedly.
"Andria you've seen him before," I say matter of factly.
"That was a month ago. He evolves every day." She says and I stare at her.
"Andria I think talking about him isn't healthy," probably because I feel intimidated by him.
"You are the one who eats pancakes with mustard." She says and my eyes widen.
"That's just a yellow-colored syrup," I gasp and she gives a mocking nod.
"You always know how to change the subject." She pouts exaggeratedly.
"Well, I took a picture of him and some people. It was a framed picture." I say and I show her the picture. She scans it like it was some secret code she had to decipher.
"He even looks good with short hair." She gushes. I didn't think shoulder-length hair could fit a man till I saw Alejandro. "These are his siblings. He's the fourth child."
"Oh," No wonder they looked familiar.
Andria spent hours asking me about Alec which I wasn't comfortable with. When it was time for criminal minds, she was mounted next to the TV with a blow of popcorn and powdered milk.
"So, will you consider working with the Luis's till the old housekeeper returns?" She asks during the ad break.
"It takes only a day to deliver one letter," I say, folding my laundry from the dining room.
"Are you still mad about it?" She asks and I look at her as she stares at me unsmiling.
I scratch my brows tiredly. This wasn't the first time she put me over someone else but I am not good at keeping malice, especially with my best friend.
"Is that even possible?" I ask and she gets up from the floor and walks towards me.
"I know Beverly Hills is filled with extremely rich people, I know what it's like to feel intimidated by them. But, it doesn't stop you from feeling happy about leaving your comfort zone." She says. It's way more than the wealth.
People like them murdered my father and got away with it because they were wealthy.
"It's not Andria," I say, trying to hold back my tears. The sound of Criminal Minds beginning interrupted the lull moment.
"I just hope one day you can see how special you are. None of those things people said matters," She taps my back and goes back to the living room. I look at Elizabeth's dress.
I wish I could believe that.
*. *. *.
"Tell him someone admires him," Andria says as she places a letter scenting Lilies which according to her was his favorite. "she's average height, inquisitive, sexy, rich-"
"I think all he needs to do is see you, there is no need for saying all this," I say frowning.
"I don't care, Amaya, when he sees me, he'll fall harder. As for now, show him this letter and tell him all I've told you. When he arrives for our date, I'll confess my love, and we'll kiss and make love," She squirms.
"You are willing to sleep with him even though you'll just meet him?" I ask in disbelief.
"Amaya, it's not like I'm a virgin. I mean who can resist Alejandro Luis? Imagine him naked." She says with wide eyes.
"Just be careful," I say, knowing whatever I say won't change her mind. Maybe I'll beg him not to sleep with her. She has no idea what she's doing.
"Yes mother," She chuckles.

Andria had a one-day conference to attend in Seattle so I had to walk to Beverly Hills which was fine by me, except I had to pass by Maria's shop. I spot her sitting on an iron bench outside her shop and she looks like she's crying. My heart squeezes and I fold my hand into a fist trying not to walk up to her but before I could, the water from the rain that fell early today splashed on me as a car drove by.
I nearly swallowed the water. I look at the person driving the car and it's the same woman that stared at me vehemently when I still used to work in Maria's shop and she'd pass by often. She smirks and drives towards Beverly Hills. I look at Maria and she's staring at me, her eyes swollen. I smile a bit but she looks away.
Mrs. Luis would be angry if she saw me this way. It's just for a day. I walk to Beverly Hills. I keep my eyes on the ground as I get in. I feel eyes watching me which makes me uncomfortable.
"I saw her in one of Alejandro Luis's cars yesterday," Someone gasps.
"You must have been blinded by the Molly you took. I mean, look at her," Another person laughed.
"Isn't she the one Madison told us about,"
"The one that murdered her parents,"
"She shouldn't be allowed here!"
"Well if it isn't the devil's spawn in broad daylight," A familiar voice says from in front of me and I halt. I look up to see Madison, the same woman who splashed water on me earlier with her car.
I try to maneuver her but she blocks my way.
"Heard you got a job in Luis's household? Found a good place to cater to you aside from that weed shop," She says disdainfully, and my fist clenches.
We were never on good terms ever since Andria slapped her for insulting Maria's shop. She swore to never make me live in peace and ever since then, she hasn't. I don't even know how she got to know about my parents.
"You shop in there," I say and she rolls her eyes.
"Look," She takes a step forward, smiling fakely, "find another job somewhere else, maybe someone aside from Luis's. I've been with Alec for four years and I know him better than anyone. He isn't attracted to people as ugly as you or people who dress the way you do. If you think that you can seduce him, think again. Alec is a man but he stays with women of his class."
I look at her with a scowl.
"I didn't take this job because of Alejandro. I took it because I needed it." I say with growing contempt and she laughs.
"That's what I heard until someone from your class drugged Alec and forced him to sleep with them. Luckily, she isn't here to tell the story because she's burning in hell." She spits out.
"I don't have time to argue with you-"
"Oh, why? Let me guess, afraid of mistakenly losing it and murdering me the same way you killed your parents?" She says and the blood in me drains.
"Madison," The scent of vanilla engulfs my nose and this time it frightens me. I look at Alejandro as he stares at Madison. They are together so I'm sure he'd believe her. I felt my body shaking. His eyes move to mine in shock.
"Alec, "Madison squirms and hugs him but he pulls her away as soon as she touches him.
"Behave," He pointed at her anger written all over his face.
"You are embarrassing me in front of this pauper. Do you have any idea that she murdered her parents?" She says scowling and I try to control my tears.
"And why should I believe that? Like the time you said I was drugged and ravished?" He says with raised brows.
"I... I'll leave," I say and before he can look at me I walk away as a flood of eyes wash over me.
I've been embarrassed before but not as much as this. What would Alejandro think of me? What if he doesn't accept Andria because of me? What if he gets mad because I made him shout at his girlfriend and harm Andria on their date? Lord, please let me not run into Alejandro today. I'll just hide the letter in his room after that I'll leave this place and this country. I can't take it anymore.
*. *. *.
"What the hell came over me when I hired you?" Mrs. Luis shouts as I stand in the living room, my clothes stained with mud and wet. She remained three feet away from me.
"I'm sorry," I say looking at her. Her fury rises.
"That's what they always say. Poor people are so good at that! Elizabeth, give her, her uniform and make sure she doesn't stain any item in this house." She grimaces and walks away.
"Yes Mrs. Luis," Elizabeth said standing near the staircase. She gives me a sympathetic smile and I smile hoping Alejandro doesn't return till I leave.
*. *.
I put the mop into the bucket and I sigh in exhaustion. All I had left to do was to clean Alejandro's room. To my benefit, he hasn't returned since this morning. I was glad the uniform met my standards. It was a blue top with golden strips and a blue skirt with golden strips.
I open Alejandro's door and it smells greatly of vanilla mixed with lavender which makes it feel heavenly. Lavender. My favorite. His room was professional and organized. He seemed like the type who valued work. There was a large window here and I could see the beautiful trees from there although it was nighttime. There was a mini library dividing the room equally. I could see a television on the other side with a controller on the table. He loves games! Me too!
There was a large king-size bed by the side of the room where I was standing with a black duvet neatly spread on it. There were flower vases by the window. There was also a balcony out there. The room lights were switched on which was strange. There was nothing out of place in this black-and-white themed room.
I wonder what I'd be like living in a place like this with this scent. Andria would be so lucky if he accepted her. He's an organized man. I don't know if what Madison said about him was true but I won't jump into conclusion yet. My eyes capture something on his glass table and goosebumps rise through me. I hear sounds coming from somewhere and then I realize there is a door in here.
He's here! I quickly take out the already rumpled letter from my uniform pocket then I place it under the thick brown coat on the table. I hear the sound of the door open but I don't stay to look as I run away.
He's the same man I ran into when Maria fired me!
