What we can see is beyond the
eyes
ALEJANDRO'S P.O.V
"Boss." Mateo's voice disturbs me before I can look back at the woman who ran into me. I look forward to Mateo as he holds an umbrella with one hand above his head while holding out the door of my Ferrari Daytona SP3 with his other hand. I adjust my coat and I walk towards the car.
"I could go after her." He says staring straight and not daring to look me in the eyes. I close my umbrella before entering the car.
He closes the door, walks to the driver's seat and puts the key in the ignition. I look in the direction of where the lady ran to. I could see only her shadow running. Hm.
"It isn't necessary." I finally replied. He nods and starts the engine driving off toward Beverly Hills.
I slumped on the chair and I took out my laptop in my laptop bag. I opened it and then the scent of lavender engulfed my nose. I brought my wrist to my nose and it smelt so glorious. A fragile-looking lady petrified to death has lovely hair and smells of lavender. Well isn't that intriguing? Maybe she was being chased. Her clothes revealed a little left to imagination because she was drenched. Maybe I should have gone after her. I sigh and lean into my car seat.
Why does Alejandro Luis suddenly have a conscience!
Dispelling the thoughts away from my head, I focus on my laptop. Each thunderclap made me look out the window, hoping that lady was all right.

I bite the top of my pen trying to figure out if I only hired fools in my company. Five percent depreciation in the value of ... Air Conditioners. Oh, you've got to be kidding me! I freaking told Malacia to sack that bloody second-class illiterate.
"Siri, video call Malacia Robert," I say to my voiceover somewhere in my office. I put down the pen and I press a finger to the side of my face trying as much as I can to control my anger.
"Video calling Malacia Robert."
One Second.
A freaking two seconds.
Three seconds...
The cunt finally picked and it was obvious he just had an evening of his life. f*****g dog.
"Hello, Mr. Luis. I'm sorry about-"He pants but I cut in impatiently.
"Send the document in safe 36 to staff 36 working on the third floor with immediate effect. I'll handle his post from now on." I say in a monotone and he grows silent and I tap my office table in annoyance.
"Ye...yes sir." I could hear the faint sound of him swallowing a spit which made me grimace in disgust.
"And yes, Mr. Malacia. Robert. Considering your request for a vacation to Hawaii. I permit your request. You'd be cut off from salary and return after three years. I advise you to find another job." I say and he gasps.
"Sir I'm sorry," He unconsciously jumps off the bed and I'm greeted with unpleasant nudity carefully wrapped in torn protection. Fantastic!
"Siri, end the call," I say, and the screen screen blacked out. I rub my brows in frustration.
"Son of a -" Someone knocks on my office door interrupting me.
"Who's that?" I ask leaning into my. Chair.
"Um... Elizabeth Ruth sir." Elizabeth Ruth answers in her fragile little voice. I relax a bit.
"Come in," I say and I hear the door open and close. My gaze doesn't shift from my desk. She placed a mug of steamy coffee on my desk and it did wonders to my nose and a file that I'm sure contains the blueprint for my new project and my schedule for tomorrow. I caught sight of her petite hand which managed to suck out the little happiness I felt when she came in here. Anytime I see those scars on her body I can't help but blame myself.
It's quite uncanny that she's doing this especially when my mother made it clear she shouldn't work anywhere close to me or my father. When she doesn't leave, I look up but she looks away making me catch sight of the burnt side of her face. Another painful surge in my heart.
"Uh... I... I have news about my co-housekeeper, Ahmilia." She says and gasps before correcting herself. " I mean, Ahmilia Lockwood."
Everyone knows I value names more than anything. I have only one compromise and that's Beth. I do not appreciate informality, especially regarding business.
I stare at her as I turn the coffee each turn hitting the edges of the ceramic and causing a sound that I'm positive doesn't go well for Elizabeth.
"Look at me, Beth," I instructed. She hesitates but her surreal different eye colors meet mine. From the first day Elizabeth stood by our front door begging to take up her mother's job, I knew she was special.
Her left eye was gray while her right was Hazel green. She's the only one I could be a little informal with. She'd like my little sister. She's been working here since she was eight, she took up her late mum's job here after she passed away.
Even as a little girl she mopped and vacuumed 4,500 square feet of land every damn day. Mother didn't like her, I didn't either till she saved my life.
At eleven she could treat wounds like a certified nurse!
"Sit," I look at the chair in front of her.
"I'll stand." She says surprised which baffles me. I scowl causing her to sit. I smile in contentment.
"It's me, Alec." I lean forward. She nods playing with the hem of her ankle-length skirt. I had Ahmilia go to the mall and get her dresses far better than the rag she's wearing but mother being mother, ordered the dresses put in the inferno despite me trying to convince her.
"I know, Alejandro I'm a mere housekeeper, your mother wouldn't appreciate me sitting here." My fist clenches.
"What would she do? Do you stand? Beth you know I wouldn't allow that." I say in annoyance. I understand her fears but it's not justifiable knowing the lengths I would go to protect her.
"I don't need your protection." She says and I nod in understanding.
"Suit yourself." I grab the coffee mug and take all the hot coffee at once. She stares at me with wide eyes and I like my lips. "You're gonna say why you are here or state to me?
"Uh... Ahmilia Lockwood got into labor while mopping the stairs...she was bleeding and I had to....uh beg Mateo Madrid to take her to the hospital. I'm sorry it wasn't Mateo's fault. I couldn't watch her and her unborn baby-"
"Call Mateo and have him go to Austin's. Tell him to print copies of a housekeeper vacancy needed with immediate effect in Luis's household with a fifty thousand dollar salary for a month. The first to show up tomorrow with good qualities gets the job." I say and I look at her to see her mouth hanging open. I grimace and she closes it immediately and I smile a bit.
"Thank you, Alejandro." She thanks me and I ignored her." I mean Alec." I hum in response and she grins.
"I'll convince my parents...for you," I mumble the last part. Once a-bloody-gain, she looks hysterical.
"You don't-"
"Good night Elizabeth," I say and pick up the file. When I hear the door open and close, I put down the file and call Mateo myself.
