Chapter 02 - Party Preparations

POV - Felix

I pull back the curtain to reveal a grinning, yet exhausted looking, Amelia with a big coffee and a gift box standing in front of the curtain.

"Amelia my love, I am so thankful to have you! Is that coffee for me otherwise i retract the previous statement" my eyes lower forming into almost a scowl but my mouth betrays me turning up into a grin which I know she'll hate.

"Yes it is for you! Happy birthday." she smiled taking me in and then frowned "you look like s**t. It's your birthday, we have breakfast lunch and then we are going to the bar, don't you think you could have had a little more beauty sleep before." she laughed as she pointed at me all over as if I ever looked any different. I was always covered in bruises and scrapes. Another gift my wolf held back.

I snatch the coffee "I take back what i said before regardless. You're a b***h for sure. But also after this coffee and your magic I'm sure I will look amazing!" she put on a faux look of offence and slapped the back of my head pulling me back to our shared dorm.

Amelia had been my room mate for the last 4 years and more like family than any of my actual family. She was the only reason i was thankful for my step monster sending me here. honestly I am not sure i would have survived being in close quarters with those devil spawn for any longer than i had already managed so I guess I am generally glad to be away from the 80% of the time.

Additionally her hot brother Alpha Axel Wood was around us often due to wanting to see his sister (thank the goddess). Though my wolf acted dormant to others she let me know he is our mate. She is full of cruel jokes. I don't know if his wolf has not yet picked up we are his mate because of Ferras' pretending or if he hasn't said anything out of respect. Or the third and most likely option he is waiting to reject me on my 18th. Today. Which is why I am going to get plastered at the pub so I might have the guts to accept it.

Axel and Amelia clearly share the same genetics. Axel is 6 foot 7 and Amelia 6 foot 1 both tall, both athletic though Axel is absolutely built out with muscle and very prominent veins which are unbelievably sexy. Amelia is more lean with a very large pair of t*ts which when we are together makes it look like I gifted any i might have had to her. They both have dark brown eyes which look almost black like looking into space, it's dreamy, when I look into Amelia's eyes I sometimes imagine they are Axels looking down on me with the love Amelia holds for me. Axel's hair matches his eyes in the perfect way and together with his strong features he looks like a bit of a bad boy. Amelia on the other hand has hair similar to a sunflower seed, dark brown but with buttery highlights. That lucky b***h. They are twins but since Amelia wants to be a warrior she has decided to live in the pack house communal area to ensure it doesn't look like she is getting special treatment. Giving up the luxury of the Alpha house to spend time with us commoners.

I remember when we were younger, spending time together as Alphas and Betas families do, their home made me see stars like it was an unbelievable site. I love spending time with the Woods children they always treated me well even after finding out I'm wolfless.

"Aren't you going to open the box. You're just staring at me like you are picturing that I'm my brother and it's creeping me out. I can't believe you do this to him and he hasn't clicked about your crush." she snickered out whispering the last part so that it seemed i wasn't meant to hear it. I know she meant it for me.

"I told you that in private!! do not use that against me" my blush rolled down from my forehead lighting my cheeks ablaze. I grabbed the box and threw it onto the floor pulling off the bow and then the lid. Inside were two new outfits. A day outfit consisting of fresh black jeans in a carpenter/cargo style cut and a black tank which would go perfectly with my platform docs for breakfast and lunch today, comfy and casual but with no holes. A real upgrade from my aging wardrobe. The other outfit was a dress and some black platform sandals. the dress was a body con which I could tell would only just cover my ass. I looked up at her in shock

"Amelia thank you so much you shouldn't have done so much" then i pulled up the slutty black bodycon dress and looked her in the eyes as she had a s**t eating grin on her face "no really you shouldn't have" my tone was a bit more pained. We both suddenly burst out laughing.

"I have a matching one are you saying I will look like a w***e!?" she asked with fake shock all over her face.

"yes. But at least knowing we will match we will both look like strippers and i can live with that" i was glad it was at least long sleeve and a high cut. "I'm thankful you didn't try to force heals on me as well"

"that's the greatful b***h I know and love" she gave me a big hug then pulled out a hair brush pointing over to the vanity. "let's get ready for breakfast"

i quickly changed out of my towel into the new clothes. despite the jeans being baggy my big bum and thighs still looked great through them. Amelia really knows how to polish a terd and I am so glad i don't have to do this alone. Sitting in front of the mirror Amelia began doing my hair while instructing what moisturizers to put on and what order to do the base in. Once that was done she did my eyebrows and lips before just adding a little mascara.

"Felix you look perfect! Tonight we will go all out though so be ready for round two" she grinned at me beaming with excitement this really was her bread and butter, it was hard to believe she was also such a skilled warrior at times like this. I had ended up with soft curls and my hair half up half down with my fringe down falling just above my eyebrows which were brushed to perfection. my lips had a matte nude finish and I was quite pleased. Though I am typically a muddy bruised mess I had no doubt that i was at least alright looking even with my step family trying to make me feel otherwise.

"I can't wait. Can I do anything to help you?"

she paused for a second before cracking up with laughter looking at me like i was nuts "look I want to look good to Felix, I'm not sure what you are trying to do but i really don't want your boyish style to guide any of my look" i doubled over laughing. I really was hopeless when it came to these sorts of things. I was more into science and maths. my current plan is to study forestry and then come back to work in our forests to guide harvest and milling. This was how we made most of our money and it worked well for the pack and it felt like the only thing I could offer. It also meant in two days time i would be moving to the city to study. But luckily so would Amelia. Though we will be studying seperate fields since she is going to study politics. Alpha Axel and Jake are set to leave no long after for a special Alpha school so we will be separated for the 3 years it takes to complete our studies.

This meant that this was the last chance to see my friends. Outside of Amelia, Axel, and obviously Jake, there was Lilly and James who was Amelia's mate. She was not ready to move in with him since she knew she knows we are all going away for a few years so didn't want to get to comfortable but they were already mated and marked. He will be joining us at the University to also study politics and i give it about 2 days once there for him to move out of dorms and into the flat Amelia has set up for us. Lily will come to visit but doesn't plan on studying outside of the pack as she wants to work in the kitchens and wanted to learn for the current head chef.

i was so thankful James was my childhood friend and they make such a great match. I am also envious as my mate, though we still had fun and hung out, seemed to be more distant from me. He and Amelia are about 4 months older but since they turned 16 Amelia and i continued to grow closer while Axel got distant. He was generally preoccupied by becoming alpha of the pack and training for that so probably just didn't talk much because of that. But it made me wonder if he would be joining us at the birthday events or if he was really becoming distant.

"is Axel coming" i suddenly blurted out to Amelia who slowly turned with a massive grin on her face.

"He said he will be there all day girl so get your full before we leave" she turned back winking into the mirror and making kissy noises. I felt the embarrassment creeping on...
