From time to time, Modráček the architect would request permission to visit his sister. Again and again he presented his appeal in writing, addressing it to the police station on Běhounská, even sending it by registered mail. But he never received any reply. It occurred to him that, perhaps, his requests didn’t fulfil the conditions required for such an appeal. After all, it was possible that there might even exist a certain kind of form that one had to fill out and attach to the petition, without which Sesame would never open. So he turned to the porter at the police station, but only received the curt reply that a request for such a visit must be made directly to the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
