I'm a good girl

Nice story

When we woke up I got dressed in the clothes from the day before, he drove me home so I can get ready before we went out to see Beth.

When I got back to the car he looks up and smiles.

"You look good ma." He says and I give him a smile as he pulls off.

As we walk into the swimming center we walk up to beth holding hands. We sit down behind her.

"Kids got a lot going on." He says.

"We like to keep him busy." Beth tells him.

"Oh yeah? That's what he likes?" He asks as he puts his arm around me and pulls me closer as I watch the people around us.

"He's 11." Was her only response and I scoff.

"Yeah, but if he doesn't want to do something he's not going to be any good at it." He told her back.

"You're parenting my kid now?" She asks him.

"Nah." He says running his fingers up and down my hip. "No, I'm just saying not everybody is good at everything." He finishes.

Beth pulls a fast food bag out of her purse and sets it down next to her.

I pick it up and pass it to Rio since I'm closer.

"So that's it? So how you do it?" He asks.

"You want details?" She asks him.

"Oh please." He says as he turns his head to look at her with an amused smile.

"I googled the cleanest way to kill somebody." She says and continues talking. "  There's a part of the brain called the light switch in the back of your head. I had tarps and overalls from painting emmas nursery." She tells him and I already knew she was lying not any because I was there but because I painted Emma's nursery.

"Hey! Mom, aunt beks watch me!" Kenny says from in the water.

"Hey, I'm watching!" Beth screams back with a laugh.

I give him a smile and clap for him as he swims.

"We made him turn around and put him on his knees. He cried like a baby." Finally, she speaks the truth he did cry like a baby.

"Then we turned out his lights." She finished.

"What did you do with the body?" He asks her.

"We put it in a duffle with bricks. We rented a boat and took it as far as we could." She told him

"And you cleaned the boat?" He asked.

"Of course."

"Wow so must have not got much sleep then." He says still playing along.

"Well, I'm a mother of 4. I'm used to it"

"Right. Man, that's a hell of a story." He says.

" Thank you." She says as he goes in the bag and checks the clip to see if it was full. Once done he looks up to me and nods.

"Yeah, I just wish it was true. You see you can't shoot someone if you don't use any bullets." He lets out a hum.

"Hey, aunt beks! I'm going to dive." Kenny says.

I smile and nod as I stand up with Rio.

"You should watch. This will be good." He tells beth as he grabs my hand and we leave.

With that, we go and pick up Marcus and go back to Rio's place to spend the whole day watching movies.

It was getting dark out and Marcus was laying on my lap with his upper body laying on mine as his head used my breast as a pillow. He fell asleep during the movie and I pull the blanket upon him.

"He likes you." Rio tells me and I smile.

"I like him too." I tell him as I run my fingers through Marcus's hair.

"You good to stay here? I gotta go see Beth once more., then I'll come back. I promise." He tells me and I give him a smile and a nod. He leans over and kisses my cheek.

Then he gets up and leaves. By the time he got back, I was asleep on the couch with Marcus.
