Sedd and Leah walked home together, their conversation light and filled with laughter. They talked about their crush types, sharing secrets and giggles. “I think I like someone who’s kind and funny,” Leah said, her cheeks turning a light shade of pink. “Yeah, same here,” Sedd replied, smiling. “Someone who can make me laugh and is always there for me.” As they reached Leah’s house, she waved goodbye to Sedd. “See you tomorrow!” she called out, entering her home. Sedd waved back, a smile lingering on his face as he remembered the time Leah tripped over a hidden tree root. He chuckled to himself, feeling a warm sense of nostalgia. The next day, Leah and Sedd met at the cafeteria during lunch. They helped each other with their school activities, sharing notes and discussing their assignments. Soon, their friends joined them, and the group gathered around, chatting and working together. Rex, Damien, and Jason sat with Sedd, while Halsey, Janice, and Sohainna joined Leah. Despite the gender-based separation, they were all good friends and enjoyed each other’s company. “Hey, Sedd, are you going to participate in the basketball campus?” Leah asked, looking curious. “Yeah, I’m thinking about it,” Sedd replied. “But only if you and our friends come to watch me.” Leah and their friends agreed enthusiastically. “Of course, we’ll be there to cheer you on!” Leah said with a big smile. Time Skip Sedd arrived home at 7:11 PM after school and excitedly told his dad about the upcoming basketball game. “Dad, I’m going to participate in the basketball game at school,” he announced. His dad nodded approvingly. “That’s great, son. Just make sure you give it your best.” His mom, who was cooking dinner, also agreed. “We’ll be cheering for you, Sedd.” Sedd then asked his dad for permission to go out and train for the game. “Can I go out to practice? I want to be ready for the match.” His dad agreed but set a rule. “You can go, but make sure you come home early. No staying out late.” Sedd nodded. “Got it, Dad. I’ll be back on time.” As Sedd opened the door to leave, he saw Rex, Damien, and Jason lose their balance and fall to the ground. They had been trying to eavesdrop on his conversation with his family. Sedd laughed and helped them up. “What are you guys doing?” he asked, still chuckling. “We wanted to know if you got permission to train,” Rex admitted, grinning sheepishly. “Well, I did. Let’s go!” Sedd said, leading the way. They headed to the basketball court and started their training. Sedd practiced his dribbling, passing, and shooting. His friends joined in, playing a friendly match to sharpen their skills. They cheered each other on, giving tips and encouragement. As the sun began to set, Sedd attempted a three-point shot. He focused, took a deep breath, and released the ball. It soared through the air and swished through the net. “Nice shot, Sedd!” Damien exclaimed, clapping. “Thanks, guys,” Sedd said, feeling a surge of confidence. They continued practicing, working on their teamwork and strategies. Rex showed off his impressive defense skills, while Jason made some excellent passes. Damien, known for his speed, darted around the court, making it challenging for the others to keep up. After an hour of intense training, they decided to call it a day. Sedd checked his watch; it was 8:57 PM. “We should head home,” he said. “I promised my dad I wouldn’t be late.” They all agreed and started walking back. Sedd arrived home just in time. He joined his family for dinner, feeling satisfied with his progress. “How was practice?” his mom asked, serving him a plate of food. “It was great. I even made a three-point shot,” Sedd replied proudly. His dad smiled. “Keep up the good work, son. We’re proud of you.” Sedd felt a warm sense of accomplishment as he ate dinner with his family, looking forward to the upcoming game and the support of his friends. As Sedd sat on the edge of his bed, he noticed his phone buzzing with a text message from Leah. He was surprised and immediately responded to her message. “Hey, sorry for the late reply. I was at training,” he typed quickly. “No worries! How was practice?” Leah replied. “It was great! We had a good session. I even made a three-point shot,” Sedd texted back, feeling proud. “That’s awesome! Can’t wait to see you play,” Leah responded with a smiley face emoji. After a while of chatting, Sedd felt sleepy. “I’m really tired. I think I’m going to sleep now. Goodnight!” he texted. “Goodnight, Sedd! Rest well,” Leah replied. Sedd put his phone down and drifted off to sleep, feeling content. The next day, Sedd and Leah walked together to school. They chatted about their plans for the day and shared a few laughs. Upon arriving at the hallway, they waved goodbye and entered their respective classrooms. Leah’s teacher, Ms. Viona, entered the room, and the students greeted her with a cheerful “Good morning!” “Good morning, everyone. Please take your seats so we can continue our discussion,” Ms. Viona said, smiling. After the discussion, Ms. Viona asked the students to submit their activity from the previous day. Leah opened her bag and searched for her activity, but it was missing. Panic set in as she rummaged through her bag, unable to find it. One by one, the students walked to the front to pass their activities. Leah was still searching frantically when she heard a whisper from the window. “Leah!” Sedd called softly, holding up her missing activity. Leah’s eyes widened in surprise. She quickly went to the window. “Why do you have my activity?” she asked, puzzled. “I accidentally took it when we were cleaning up after helping each other with our activities yesterday,” Sedd explained, handing it to her. “Thank you so much, Sedd!” Leah said, relief washing over her. She hurried back and passed her activity to Ms. Viona, her nervousness disappearing. The bell rang, signaling the end of the class, and the students said goodbye to their teacher. Ms. Viona smiled as she collected the activities. “Before you go, I want to share something exciting about science and technology. Did you know that scientists are making incredible advancements in renewable energy? Solar panels are becoming more efficient, and we’re even exploring ways to harness energy from ocean waves.” The students listened intently, intrigued by the topic. “Imagine a future where we can power our homes and schools with clean, sustainable energy,” Ms. Viona continued. “Technology is also advancing rapidly in the field of medicine. We now have robotic surgeries that are more precise and less invasive, helping patients recover faster.” Leah raised her hand. “Ms. Viona, do you think we’ll have flying cars soon?” Ms. Viona chuckled. “Flying cars are a popular topic in science fiction, but we’re actually making progress in that area too. Companies are developing prototypes, and who knows? Maybe in your lifetime, you’ll see them become a reality.” The students left the classroom buzzing with excitement about the future of science and technology.
